The new owners really invested a lot of time, energy, and resources on getting the Bartley house back to its former glory. The attention to detail of combining new and old shouldn’t be lost on anyone. The beautiful French arch is eye catching and the odes to Nashville history are charming. Service and staff are amazing. We’ve been a few times and enjoy the coffee- it is on the higher priced side but Nashville is a tourist town. Now for the donuts- they’re not traditional American donuts. This isn’t to say they’re not good. I just saw donuts and expected a sprinkle or cake donut and you won’t get that. These are bougie donuts. Not really a pan dulce because they’re not hard but not a croissant because they’re sweeter. They call them volants (layered donuts) but I’m not sure I would even classify it as that. It’s a bougie airy sweet hybrid croissant donut (probably too long to put on a sign)- some of them come jelly filled so be sure to ask if you’re not down to clown with jelly. I had the (non jelly filled) brown county coffee one, twice- so obviously that’s forever my go to.

I like that they open at 7am because most things in town don’t open till 10am and I find the most enjoyment walking through the town before it’s crazy. Grab a coffee and a not- donut donut and walk the...

First time in Nashville so we were looking for somewhere for a light lunch. We had planned to come here later in the week to try the Volants but since they had sandwiches we dropped in. We got a Monte Cristo that is made with a caramelized maple volant. Oh my goodness! It was so good. I was wishing we hadn’t decided to share one. 😁 I also got a Campfire Macchiato. It was amazing. The service was top notch and when I asked about the history of the house the young lady was very happy to give me the details. Also there is a collection of photographs of people from Brown county that a local photographer took that lived at the house for a while. Those were cool to look at. Especially the one on the Liars Bench. Neat story on that one that you should check out if you ever visit Nashville IN. The next morning we stopped in for Volants and I got the Flying Pig. Well let’s just say it flew right into...

I have been coming to Nashville for well over a decade and have seen stores and restaurants come and go over the years but one thing remained the same, the food sucks. Y'all changed that. Your menu was short and sweet which kept things moving quick. You handled a "karen" with class and ease without disrupting everyone else. The sandwichs were fire. The Monte Cristo was easily one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. Best freaking thing I've ever heard in lil'Nashville. The princess pumpkin slapped. The jelly roll doughnut looks a different but dang. Fire. Yall are crushing it. You're staff rocks. You're place is different and feels as fresh as your food. I'm honestly trying to figure out how to reasonably go back for another sammy. I couldn't reccomend this...

I’m a huge fan of donuts, so I had to try Bartley House when I visited Nashville. My family and I were absolutely blown away by the quality of both the food and the coffee here. First of all, the French volant donuts were incredible. The texture was similar to a croissant and the flavor was amazing. My wife and I both got breakfast sandwiches on plain volants- absolutely delicious. The coffee was some of the best I’ve ever had as well. We recently spent a couple weeks in Italy and the pastries at Bartley House were as good as the best pastries we had in Italy. My only complaint is that I was very much looking forward to going back tomorrow morning and I just realized that they’re closed on Monday and Tuesdays.

My wife and I were in the Nashville area for a wedding and made a weekend hiking trip out of it. While we were in the area, we walked around and found this cafe. We were thoroughly impressed by the food and drinks. In fact, we returned every morning for three days straight. Everything we tried each time was delicious. The staff and facilities were also fantastic. The staff were friendly and the facilities were clean. If anyone is looking for a breakfast place to hit up each morning, this newly renovated cafe is definitely worth going to. We will definitely be back if we are ever back this way.
