The new owners really invested a lot of time, energy, and resources on getting the Bartley house back to its former glory. The attention to detail of combining new and old shouldnât be lost on anyone. The beautiful French arch is eye catching and the odes to Nashville history are charming. Service and staff are amazing. Weâve been a few times and enjoy the coffee- it is on the higher priced side but Nashville is a tourist town. Now for the donuts- theyâre not traditional American donuts. This isnât to say theyâre not good. I just saw donuts and expected a sprinkle or cake donut and you wonât get that. These are bougie donuts. Not really a pan dulce because theyâre not hard but not a croissant because theyâre sweeter. They call them volants (layered donuts) but Iâm not sure I would even classify it as that. Itâs a bougie airy sweet hybrid croissant donut (probably too long to put on a sign)- some of them come jelly filled so be sure to ask if youâre not down to clown with jelly. I had the (non jelly filled) brown county coffee one, twice- so obviously thatâs forever my go to.
I like that they open at 7am because most things in town donât open till 10am and I find the most enjoyment walking through the town before itâs crazy. Grab a coffee and a not- donut donut and walk the...
Read moreFirst time in Nashville so we were looking for somewhere for a light lunch. We had planned to come here later in the week to try the Volants but since they had sandwiches we dropped in. We got a Monte Cristo that is made with a caramelized maple volant. Oh my goodness! It was so good. I was wishing we hadnât decided to share one. đ I also got a Campfire Macchiato. It was amazing. The service was top notch and when I asked about the history of the house the young lady was very happy to give me the details. Also there is a collection of photographs of people from Brown county that a local photographer took that lived at the house for a while. Those were cool to look at. Especially the one on the Liars Bench. Neat story on that one that you should check out if you ever visit Nashville IN. The next morning we stopped in for Volants and I got the Flying Pig. Well letâs just say it flew right into...
Read moreI have been coming to Nashville for well over a decade and have seen stores and restaurants come and go over the years but one thing remained the same, the food sucks. Y'all changed that. Your menu was short and sweet which kept things moving quick. You handled a "karen" with class and ease without disrupting everyone else. The sandwichs were fire. The Monte Cristo was easily one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. Best freaking thing I've ever heard in lil'Nashville. The princess pumpkin slapped. The jelly roll doughnut looks a different but dang. Fire. Yall are crushing it. You're staff rocks. You're place is different and feels as fresh as your food. I'm honestly trying to figure out how to reasonably go back for another sammy. I couldn't reccomend this...
