Don't go there to sell jewelry. They're not forthcoming about how they value your jewelry and though they claim to only charge 10% of spot gold market, they appear to charge more. When I questioned them, they said I was calculating the equation wrong. So, I took my gold elsewhere and received $350 more for three pieces of 14 karat gold which I'd weighed myself. They also told me two different ways they use the spot market, one day they told me they took an average of several days of the gold market and another time they told me they use the spot market from the daily values given by an online gold bokerage firm. Either way, their sales clerk couldn't tell me the basis they used for the spot market when they, the salesperson, calculated the value they'd pay me for my gold. They also take your jewelry back to a back room to determine karat weight, both weighing and testing the gold without you being able to see what they're doing with your gold. So, you don't know the actual values and have to just trust what they tell you when they come back to the front with their offer. I allowed them to do this for years, trusting them to be doing the right thing. Now, I won't. They also take off a lot for gem stones in your gold without them actually weighing the actual amount of the stones. They just "eyeball" the non-gold materials and subtract an unmeasured amount of material from the total gold weight. If they want to deduct the gems from the weight, they need to pop them out of the jewerly. They say they can so but they charge $3 per stone to take them out. What other gold buyers do is charge 20 percent of the day's spot gold market and they don't deduct anything for the stones. Ernesto's errs on their side in every aspect of their transaction when buying jewelry from you. This really can add up when gold prices...
Read moreHighly do not recommend!! My fiancĂ© and I went in there looking to reset an engagement set, as we had my motherâs. Everything seemed fine at first; the lady behind the counter (Gayle) seemed so helpful and eager to please. My fiancĂ© had picked a design out of the book, something she really liked. The diamonds from my motherâs rings were to be placed into the new setting. Gayle was to call the manufacturers and get back with us. We did some other asking around while we were waiting to hear back and we found a few other places that gave us a quote almost immediately. When Gayle got back to us, she quoted us TWICE the price that other jewelers had quoted us!! We were shocked to say the least. She tried to claim that it was so expensive because it was âcustom workâ when in reality, it was a design picked straight from the book. We asked for a breakdown in pricing, trying to rationalize and see where the extra expenses were coming from. She told us that their people donât give breakdowns. Just to clarify, I was able to obtain breakdowns from the other places we decided to shop around at. We decided to go through San Anthonyâs, and I can tell you, they did not disappoint! William was very knowledgeable and honest when it came to the design and practicality of the ring. And for HALF the price!! My advice is just to shop around before you shop at Ernestoâs. I just feel like the business as a whole is dishonest and trying to...
Read moreIf I could I would of given this place zero stars. I just want to warn the public about their store a credit policy because I wasnât made aware of it when I first did store credit. Keep in mind that if you decide to do store credit and then in the near future you decided to sell back the item that you purchase using store credit then they can only do store credit ONLY meaning that if you have an emergency they wonât give you the credit in cash, but ONLY in store credit. Sure, store credit is usually more than the usual credit you could get back in cash or debit, but you will never see that money in your back account ever again because once itâs store credit it will always be store credit. I wasnât made aware of it when I decided to do store credit they told me/their excuse isâthat they try to tell customers about their store credit policy,â emphasizes in the try they know they can get more money for themselves if people choose store credit. So remember this if you decided to sell them back Jewellery especially if itâs jewelry from their store. I try selling them the item, but then they saw it was an item I purchase using store credit and store credit was all that I got I canât use that money outside, only in their store especially with items you buy there you most likely will get more credit for selling them there just be aware about the store credit policy and make yourselves a favor and donât do...
