My mom and I had the best time exploring New Orleans on two amazing tours! First, we went on the Swamp Tour, and it was such a fun experience. Our bus driver, Derek, made the ride fly by with his cool facts about New Orleans and his energetic personality, it felt like the adventure started the moment we got on the bus! He even gave us fantastic food recommendations after we mentioned a bad meal, and thanks to him, we ended up loving the food here.

At the swamp, we met Captain Steve, who was just as awesome. He stopped the boat at just the right moments so we could get a close look at alligators, raccoons, and wild boars. I loved being able to take so many cool pictures of the animals and unique views, it was such a fun and exciting part of the tour!

We also went on the city tour with Steve, and he was incredible. A road closure could have disrupted the tour, but Steve quickly found an alternate route that was just as fascinating. We’d been hoping to visit the cemetery, but it was closed for “Day of the Dead.” Steve went above and beyond to make up for it by taking us past the Coven House, which felt like an exciting bonus! He shared fascinating facts about New Orleans history and gave us great recommendations for “must-see” spots.

Both tours were incredible highlights of our trip. Derek and Captain Steve made the swamp adventure unforgettable, while Steve’s creativity and enthusiasm turned the city tour into something special. We loved every moment and would do it all again in...

What a perfect way to experience my first swamp and trip to Louisiana. We learned so much in the 1:45 minute swamp tour, complete with Cajun A/C ;)

I’ve always had a healthy fear of alligators, probably mostly because I’ve never been around them (growing up in the desert) so this was me overcoming my fear, and even holding a baby alligator!

I signed up for the experience + hotel pickup, and was surprised that it was a full sized, well air conditioned tour bus to pick us up. And after all the stops that morning (4-5) it was a full bus headed out to the swamp.

Passengers are divvied up amongst captains and boats (maybe 16 passengers?). Everyone has a front row seat. There was no splash zone, my flip flops and Nikon were quite safe. Captain John safely guided us through the waters, explaining about life in the area, tips and tricks of alligator hunters and all sorts of useful facts and history about the area. We were able to catch some neat birds, quite a few alligators, and some super cute and curious raccoons. No hogs for us this time, though. I appreciated the smaller, quiet boats and maneuvering through the small bayous off the river.

Pro tip: you don’t need bug spray. There were literally none, according to Capt. John mornings and midday they disappear and return in the evenings.

We didn’t need sunscreen either, the boat had a cover (though not all of them did) and it was cloudy, and a balmy 85...

My daughter and I took the Swamp Tour with transportation on November 2nd, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The bus arrived on time and was easy to locate. Our driver, Derek, made the ride to the swamp enjoyable and much shorter than we expected, thanks to his warm personality and great sense of humor. Derek was not only incredibly hospitable and witty but also a wealth of knowledge. Throughout the journey, he shared fascinating historical facts and offered excellent restaurant recommendations. After we mentioned a disappointing dining experience, Derek’s recommendations changed our minds about New Orleans food, and now we can’t wait to come back for more!

When we arrived at the swamp, we were greeted by Captain Steve, who made sure everyone was relaxed and well taken care of. He pointed out beautiful wildflowers, Spanish moss, and the stunning fall foliage, giving us a new appreciation for the landscape. Along the way, he made several stops, ensuring we had the chance to see a variety of wildlife up close, including alligators, wild boars, raccoons, and several species of birds.

This tour exceeded all our expectations, thanks to Derek’s engaging personality and in-depth knowledge, as well as Captain Steve’s passion for the swamp and its wildlife. We’re so grateful for such an amazing experience and can’t wait to return for more delicious food and another...
