New Orleans Playing Card Company — Local services in New Orleans

Don't get me wrong. This shop is a cool shop. I am an avid cardistry guy and magician. You never come across physical card shops these days. However BEWARE!!! The prices on each deck are not clearly listed AND the seller OVERPRICED each deck by an extra $10 even $20 more than they are online! I was literally sold the 1st playing cards by Chris Ramsay for $30..... when they are literally $10 on the actual Chris Ramsay website. Complete scam. Honestly shame on the person working at the store today marking up prices WAY beyond actual market price. I even mentioned it to the woman and she laughed when I said they're extremely overpriced compared to the actual online price. She was literally looking at each deck and honestly seemed to be guessing up the price just on the spot. Shame. Shame. Shame.

So please. If you want the exact same playing cards from this shop. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Avoid this place and literally save yourself up to $20 off or more on the SAME cards by simply buying the decks online.

You'd be surprised by how overpriced this...

Fantastic shop my friend group and I stumbled upon. The shop attendant was the mother of the shop owner and clearly showed how much she cared about her son's business. She had a wealth of knowledge about the cards and gave great recommendations and an overview of what was all available.

The shop had playing cards with ornate designs, some from the shop owner who was an artist and some from other artists. There were also unique tarot cards sets, trivia decks, board games, small puzzles, and art prints.

I ended up getting one deck of unique cards and two trivia decks. This also allowed me to get a free art print.

Stopped in while on a weekend trip to NOLA. This place is very well suited for all your card game needs. They have a very large and very beautiful selection of regular playing cards and tarot decks. They also have a wonderful selection of other really neat card games. Had the opportunity to speak with the owner while in the store and he was so helpful and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the merchandise.
