Several weeks ago, I walked into Doerr Furniture needing to furnish an entire townhome. This was going to be a monumental undertaking needed to be accomplished in a short period of time. I was fortunate to be greeted by a lovely lady and in-home design consultant, Sylvia Brooks. We walked the store and she helped come up with furniture options for my bedrooms and living spaces. Sylvia couldn't have been any more patient and interested in what direction my personal tastes took the furniture selections. I did rely heavily on her recommendations, which were tasteful and wonderful. I had come in with a picture of a beautiful king canopy brass bed that I had seen somewhere recently. I was hoping to find one just like it. Doerr did not have any in their showroom, but as I have now become accustomed, that did not deter Sylvia. She researched further for a week and lo and behold emailed me a picture of a similar bed better than the one I had showed her, and ordered it for me! During the process of making decisions, Sylvia set up a convenient time to come by my townhome and see the space and to take measurements, enhancing her ability to make good design choices for me. A few weeks later, when my children's bedrooms sets came in, I decided that I wanted to add a desk to one room, which created a space issue. Sylvia came by again to consider the space, and then with some help came over after work on a Sunday and reworked the shelving units in the walk in closet to accomodates the chests of drawers, opening up space in the bedroom, enough ample space now to include the desk. After the rest of the furniture comes in, Sylvia has offered to continue to help me furnish the townhome by aiding in finding window treatments for some of the rooms. I don't believe that I have ever experienced customer service like this in my life. Sylvia has gone above and beyond on this project. She has made this awesome task easier for me. Read moreI called Doerr furniture looking for metal bed slats for my queen size bed..up and until this point know one had what I needed in stock..until I contacted Doerr furniture..Theresa took my call and she begin to take care of my needs..she was not able to give me a direct answer on if she had the metal slat frame ..but that she would check the warehouse and see If it was in stock..she took my information and said she would call back..well to me I felt I better continue my search just in case she had know luck in finding what I needed..and online I found what I needed..but it was going to take up until Tuesday until I was able to receive my item. I went on ahead and ordered it..not even 3min afterwards. Theresa called me saying she had what I needed in stock at the warehouse..my jar dropped open..as I shook my head I began to explain to Theresa that I had just ordered the metal slat frame and I just paid $89.00 dollars for it..Theresa explained to me that was the cost for for the one she has..I went on to say that I needed to know the type of metal slat frame it was. She sent me a email...and to my surprise it was the same item and cost ..so I called the online company back to cancel my order..saying all this to say patience is a quality we often time lack and as a result can potentially cost us time and money. It's absolutely nice to know that people like Theresa still exist .. because she did her job she made my day better .. thanks Doerr..for great customer service and that extra priority and professionalism it was the icing on the cake..if ever I need furnishings or just to give a referral..you have my personal word ..." like Arnold Schwarzenegger ill be back and my testimony to friends and family on my experience..again thank you Doerr family..

While Doerr Furniture has historically been a good company with nice furniture, a major failure in customer service and respect occurred which ruined a 20-year relationship.
I purchased a Shifman mattress from Doerr Furniture, and was not told, nor did I see a posting, that the Shifman mattresses cannot be exchanged. Once I realized the mattress was too soft and hurt my back, after having it covered in the waterproof mattress topper that they sold me, they informed me that they were going to charge me a 25% restocking fee for a $2,000 mattress!
After calling and speaking with the sales person they told me the manager came down to $300 instead of five as a "one-time courtesy," but to add insult to injury the difference in price if I bought a cheaper mattress would not be returned to me, but would remain on their books as a credit!
This is absurd to be charged to exchange a mattress for a more firm one and then not be given the difference back is retail piracy.
When I asked to speak to the manager they refused to let me speak to him, stating that that never happens and he is unavailable to talk to customers! I can't make this up.
This is an unreasonable and absurd position for a company we've been shopping with for 20 years.
Will never return to Doerr Furniture, and I encourage others to avoid shopping there based on their level of disrespect for the customer and...
