I live in Central Texas and drove to Nola Massey's in order to pick up my new Hobie kayak. I was not sure if it should travel all that way for my Hobie but in the end decided to go for it for two reasons...Inventory was scarce for the new 2021 mirage 360 and therefore hard to find. However I would have never made the trip had it not been for the excellent customer service I received over the phone from the staff at Massey's. I had a lot of questions, and requested multiple pictures of the kayak. Shelby was so responsive to all of my concerns, requests, and questions. I even contacted them a couple of more times asking for additional pictures or other info I forgot to ask in my previous calls . In short, every employee I spoke to was just as patient and happy to accommodate me. And this is why I chose to make the drive. When I arrived, I received the same level of helpful care and professionalism in person. These people are legit! I spent about 3 hours in the store going over the multiple features of my kayak and all the accessories I could ever want. I was like a kid in a candy store. They loaded my 360 on the trailer strapped it down with Hobie straps which were provided to me (lagniappe) thank you very much! So to Sonny, Shelby and EVERYONE who helped me I am glad to have spent my time and money with you . Thank you for your time and kindness in...
Read moreOne of the weirdest experiences I’ve ever had with ordering from them online. Their company “detected fraud” on their end because of some random reason about my last name not being the same as the last name on my card? My bank never detected fraud, which is even weirder. It makes it seem like someone wasn’t telling the truth. They asked for my identification as a result as if I were scamming someone and using their card to purchase a HAT. Why on earth would I purchase a hat from some random store in LA with somebodies stolen card? It’s a hat. They asked for my ID to verify who I am. I’m not going to send someone my ID through email just because their company can’t accept that I used my shortened last name for the delivery info instead of my long last name, if that was even the truth. Not to mention that every time I emailed this person back, an automatic response came through that the person I was emailing no longer works at the company. I don’t know what kind of weird fraudulent thing is going on with this place or if they were hacked, but protect your wallet. It was a very strange interaction. Thankfully I received my refund but I will be watching my account very carefully. Seeing the inconsistency and incompetence of this company in their reviews...
Read moreI received a tune-up on my bicycle a couple of months ago, where it included changing my chain. When asked if I should change out my cassette (the gears) as well, I was told it wasn't necessary. Upon getting back to riding later the next month my chain kept slipping, and I asked to have it checked. The cassette was worn down enough so it didn't match the new chain; the cassette was changed. After a quick google and talking with the repair person over the phone, it seemed to be that cassettes and chains should be changed at the same time so I asked them to change that too. Upon pickup and payment I explained the situation and asked simply that the chain not be included in the cost of the repairs, but I was told they couldn't discount the repair.
The staff has always been helpful, and I have gone a couple times for a quick tire change with nice experiences. I give a two star rating since I had to have my bike repaired twice and had to pay full price for them fixing a subpar job. This is such an important service for people who use bicycles as a main form of transportation, that, as of now, I would recommend going to a bicycle...
