My husband and I wasted an evening visiting this card shop trying to get my husband one of his dream cards.
We drove an hour each way (two hour round trip) for the owner, Mike, to jack up the price of the card by about $700.
My husband saw a listing on FB Marketplace for Yugioh cards and messaged Mike about them on a Saturday. In the listing all of the cards were priced. Mike sent pics of the card the next day, Sunday, and my husband confirmed his interest in it and he asked him about a couple of others. Mike invited my husband to come to the store and check the cards out in person. Monday, Mike sent my husband the store hours and address. We made plans to go on Wednesday, which was the next day the store was opened.
After my husband arrived home from work, we loaded in the car and we drove over. Once we got there, my husband went inside and introduced himself as the person who messaged Mike about the cards. Mike brought them out and at this point the price stickers that were present in the listing had been removed. My husband examined the card he inquired about and a few others. He indicated he wanted those and that is when the owner informed my husband the price was not the price listed on the listing. The card was initially $140 and it had āraisedā to around $800. My husband looked at a few other cards, bought two in consolation, awkwardly said pleasantries, and left. We drove home, the whole hour, with my husband disappointed.
No where in the multi day conversation did the owner say anything about a price change other than what was listed on the listing. When he invited my husband to the shop, when my husband confirmed his interest in the card, and when he provided the details about his shop, he didnāt indicate a price change. It wasnāt until he had my husband in person, in the shop, and my husband had examined the card and fell more in love with it, did he mention a price change. We would not have driven all that way and wasted the entire evening if the owner had been clear and upfront with us on the pricing. He deceptively had the card priced much much lower on the listing.
Iām upset at wasting the time but also at seeing my husband get his hopes up to...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a disappointing issue that resulted in wasted time and gas. Pointed this issue out and owner continues to argue with my wife publicly instead of publicly owning the issue.
Owner has resorted to name calling, āKaren,ā and false accusations of āscalping and reselling,ā without any proof. (Owner later hid the comment where he resorted to name calling)
Making fun of and attacking a customer and their wife over a disappointed customer service experience is very unprofessional.
Original issue was a wasted evening visiting this store after inquiring about a card listed online. The card was listed for one price online but the price was changed after inviting me to the store...
