I was in Williamsburg and decided to do some vintage shopping and so glad I stumbled upon this place. One of my new favorite vintage stores. Fantastic men’s selection, which can be difficult to find. I would have given 5 stars had the staff been friendlier. There was one woman who was steaming clothes near the fitting rooms who was extremely friendly and I had a nice chat with her about tailoring. However, there was another girl who I thought was a customer because she kept staring at me walking around with 6 suits on my arm, clearly struggling to carry it all through the tight aisles and to find a fitting room. I didn’t realize until later that she was an employee and instead of asking if I needed a fitting room or anything, she preferred to watch me struggle. Then, the guy at the checkout counter…wow lol…it’s actually laughable when people move here and try to have this “New York attitude” that actual New Yorkers don’t have. It’s not “New York”. It’s rude and gross. I was very polite, I was spending $400, and apparently that wasn’t enough for the guy to give anything but forced responses. Anyway, I’ll return for sure because, in my opinion, the men’s selection is unmatched by any other vintage store in NYC. Just don’t expect to be treated with much respect while...
Read moreI found some really nice stuff for a TV show I am filming. However, the sales associates were not on point and acting as if I just put the items on the table to show him what I picked out. At first the one I spoke to tried to help and basically was like I am so sorry 😢 will just let you look around. I was like ok that’s fine. Here is where I got annoyed. I asked the sales associate at the cash register about the decals on the wall. He says oh yeah we don’t iron them. I said huh? I never said ironing a decal I said can they be stitched on to the cap I bought. He said well I can Bobby pin it but we can’t glue it or stitch it on. I said ok. I take that. He stares at me for 5 minutes till I said you going to get the Bobby pins! He like oh you want that? So I am like yeah today would be great and I take the rest of the items. Dude looks shocked and says all of them it’s pricy. So I am like is this fool for real? Why else would I put my items on this table. So he finally pin my decals on my damn cap and then rings up my items. Idk maybe he partied too hard but I spoke clearly and even repeated myself. So hopefully my TV show like my outfit but I will find me another store. Dude was slow...
Read moreReviews calling this a thrift store are confused. It's a curated vintage store, and the prices reflect that. You won't find steals here like you might at the Goodwill bins, but you also won't have to spend too much time digging to find the piece you're looking for. Selection is great, though I personally wish they had more true vintage. A lot of space in the front of the store seems to be taken up by very average vintage stuff, and some newer/y2k items that aren't worth the price.
For the vintage sportswear, military, workwear and denim, I think the curation was excellent and the prices were pretty fair. Most of the stuff you could probably find on ebay for a bit cheaper (and I bet they source a lot of their product from ebay sellers anyways) but sometimes it's worth the extra money just to be able to feel the materials and try...
