I went to this florist for my wedding bouquet and was very disappointed with what I got. I showed George the inspiration for my bouquet (a colorful organic bouquet, with lots of reds, yellows, purples) and we spoke about some of the flowers he was planning to use for the arrangement. Some would be substituted out while others would be the same. We explicitly agreed that we would not have any blue orchids in the arrangement because I did not like the look of the overly dyed blue hues and wanted the arrangement to look more organic. Now the bouquet I received was fine, but it is nothing like what I wanted or what we had discussed. The bouquet looks nothing like the picture I had originally sent to George. It was much less colorful, mostly greens, and there were blue orchids even though we had explicitly agreed not to include those. Also, regarding delivery, George dropped off the flowers at the hotel lobby but he did not deliver the flowers to my hotel room. Now this wasn’t a huge deal, but when I spoke with George ahead of our wedding we had discussed a delivery of the bridal bouquet would be made to my room and my husband’s boutonnière would be delivered to his room. It seemed like certain things we had discussed with him were just completely ignored. Part of me wonders if he was avoiding delivering in person because he knew the arrangement was nothing like what we had discussed. While none of this ruined my special day I was still very underwhelmed by the arrangements we received, the bridal bouquet in particular. I will say George was very easy to work with leading up to the wedding. He was very easy-going about the whole process and was one of our easiest vendors to work with during our planning. He always made us feel like we were on the same page. Which ultimately was not the case day-of. He’s definitely a good salesman, but unfortunately his work was...
Read moreYou did absolutely horrible. This is the worst experience I could've imagined, and the absolute worst nightmare for someone choosing to support a local small business. The person I spoke with when I called about the order being delivered on the wrong day, was so disrespectful and made me feel like my purchase didn't matter. Very unappreciative. In times like these, when people choose to spend their money with you, it should he valued and people should be treated with respect. I tried my best to keep my composure as this man told me he would just cancel my order and provide a refund, which he didn't! I placed an order to be delivered on a specific date that showed available on their website. However, they delivered it a day early with no notification! No one was going to be home on that day, which is why it was scheduled for the specific date. They never even notified us that it would be delivered on the earlier date. He also advised me to write a bad review, that's how little my business meant, and I guess how little his own business means to him. You might see me as 1 customer, but you never know how many people 1 person could bring into your business. I am very disappointed, and I chose this local business opposed to 1800 flowers, or even the flower shop I work with at my hotel, and highly recommend, Starbright Floral! I have worked with Starbright for years, and recommend them to all our hotel guests and all my other hotel colleagues!! Even when things go bad, they are willing to listen and find ways to correct the issues. This did not happen with Ditmars flower shop and I will be sure to leave my honest review, so others can see what they might be in store for when...
Read moreSuper-disappointed with this florist. I called on Monday (2/11) to order $60 of roses and sunflowers for pickup on Wednesday (2/13).
Showed up to pick up the bouquet and noticed that they were already looking a little tattered, but I'm no flower expert, so I brushed it off as me being overly picky.
I got home and put them in room-temp water within a few hours of picking up the bouquet, and added the included plant food packet.
Within just 2 or 3 days, they had totally wilted. These pictures are from 5 days in and as you can see, the flowers are already completely rotten.
In the picture with the vase, you'll notice one good rose; that rose was bought by a friend at a corner deli less than 24 hours after the roses from Ditmars Flower. I get that flowers have a finite lifespan, but this deli rose looks like it's going to live well past a week, and has been subjected to the exact same conditions as these expensive flowers from an actual florist.
I guess I'll stick to deli bouquets in the future, as in this case, you clearly don't get what...
