Walking the High Line from start to finish was one of the most enjoyable experiences we had in New York. This elevated park, built on historic railroad tracks, offers a completely different perspective of the city. From the moment you step onto the trail, you are surrounded by a mix of greenery, modern architecture, art installations, and the constant energy of Manhattan buzzing below.
We did the full walk, from beginning to end, and it was the perfect balance between relaxing and exploring. Along the way there are plenty of benches, small seating areas, and spots to take in the views of the Hudson River, the surrounding neighborhoods, and the impressive skyline. The landscaping is beautiful, with plants and flowers carefully integrated into the original structure of the tracks, which gives the whole trail a unique, almost hidden-garden atmosphere.
Even though you are in the middle of New York City, the High Line feels calm and refreshing. It’s easy to forget for a moment that you are in one of the busiest cities in the world.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting NYC – whether for a short stroll or the full trail, it’s a must-see that combines history, design, and nature in a...

Each way offers a fresh perspective—heading south, you get a dramatic city backdrop, while walking north reveals more of the Hudson and hidden architectural gems. Every visit feels unique, with ever-changing art installations, vibrant gardens, and unexpected viewpoints that keep the...

It is a cool feature to see while visiting, but I would not go as far as to say it is a must in your priority list. If you plan to visit Chelsea Marketplace or planning to be on this side of the city then do it, but not something to prioritize your day around. With so much history around the city it can be hard to choose what you want to see and do and experience. For us this was lovely, but would have been...
