Pier 78 at Hudson River Park is a standout departure point for cruises along the Hudson River—be it sightseeing, dining, or sunset cruises. Located at West 38th Street, it offers easy access and a comfortable boarding experience.
We boarded a sightseeing cruise from Pier 78 with friends and were immediately impressed by the efficiency of the staff and the welcoming check‑in area. The gangway was well-staffed, and there was plenty of room to stand, stretch, or grab refreshments before departure. As soon as the boat pushed off, the views of the Manhattan skyline, Statue of Liberty, and Hudson waterfront were simply spectacular.
On board, seating was clean and spacious, allowing everyone to spread out and enjoy unobstructed panoramic views. The narration—whether live or audio—offered engaging facts about the city’s landmarks, history, and architecture. We especially loved cruising past Chelsea Piers, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, and the World Trade Center skyline.
When the sun began to set, the golden glow over the water and city skyline was unforgettable. The return to Pier 78 was smooth and punctual—no delays, and local transit options nearby made getting back a breeze.
Overall, Pier 78 at Hudson River Park is the perfect gateway for river cruises. Whether you’re in town for a day or just want to relax and enjoy the skyline from the water, it...
Read morePure chaos. Awful customer experience. The boat tour itself is very interesting, although other competitors do it better (done the BigBus tour a couple of years ago and it was a better example experience. Maybe just luck). The staff shouldn’t be allowed to be customer facing anywhere in the world. My experience was: bought the tickets online. Had to stand one hour in a line on their store to redeem the online voucher (booked and fully paid on their own website). When we got to the pier, after another 45 minutes in a chaotic line, when finally got to the front to board, was sent inside to the office because the ticket had to be stamped... about 30 minutes after another long line, the ticket was not stamped (apparently the stamp was out of order). I have to congratulate this team, I couldn’t ever come up with a worse customer...
Read moreI had an awesome experience on the 90 min harbor cruise. I looked up the times online and arrived 30 mins early to purchase the tickets. There was music playing before we boarded the boat, it added to the ambience. The sun was setting as we cruised out to the most amazing views of NYC. We saw the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn bridge, Empire State Building, and Manhattan skyline. There was plenty room on the boat inside and outside both offered great views.
The staff were all nice and very friendly environment. The price was only $30 and it was worth every dime. You can’t beat this deal anywhere. Highly recommended. A must see attraction for the whole family. Light snacks and drinks were available for purchase. Thanks to all...
