We are absolutely thrilled to share our wonderful experiences at the Kips Bay Library, a true gem in our community. The staff here are exceptional, and we feel incredibly lucky to have such dedicated individuals guiding us through our literary journeys.
First and foremost, Kaydene and Alicia are nothing short of extraordinary. They are more than just librarians; they are like best friends who always have your back. Their kindness and willingness to help are remarkable. Whether you need help finding a book or advice on a research project, they go above and beyond to ensure you have what you need.
Caroline is another standout. Her youthful spirit and enthusiasm for reading make every visit a delight. Her book recommendations are spot on, and she always seems to know exactly what I’m in the mood for. It’s clear she has a deep love for books and a genuine desire to share that with others.
A special shout-out to Ellisa King, who hosts the monthly book club discussions. Her passion for literature and her ability to foster engaging conversations make each session something to eagerly anticipate. Ellisa’s enthusiasm and insightful questions bring new dimensions to every book we discuss, making each meeting both enriching and enjoyable.
Together, Kaydene, Alicia, Caroline, and Ellisa create a warm, welcoming environment that makes the Kips Bay Library feel like a second home. Their dedication to their roles and to the community is truly inspiring. If you haven’t visited yet, you’re in for a treat. The Kips Bay Library is a treasure trove of knowledge, community, and excellent service. Thank you team for...
Read moreRude and unfriendly staff. Today I was sitting at a table and was told to leave at 4:47 pm because they were closing. Meanwhile, just 2 minutes earlier at 4:45, a lady (who later laughed at me) had announced that the library would close in 15 minutes. I was not going to check out books or anything else that would take time. I was simply sitting down, using the library wi-fi to get something done on my phone. I told the man that the library doesn’t close until 5, and the woman working with him laughed at me. I decided to leave at that moment and the man said, “You can look at the clock to see what time it is, but bye byeeeee! It was 4:49. The time wasn’t even a big deal. I would’ve left at 4:47 (even though closing time is at 5), but the way the man spoke to me and the woman laughing at me...
Read moreRude staff, unnecessarily. People come to use the public space and I notice they yell at everyone. Security guard talking shit about everyone thats sitting down. I don’t think this is the standard a public library should set, especially since they’re often dealing with vulnerable populations. Went for 1 week so far to do a training I and they have already threatened to ban about 10 to 12 people from the location.
They really contribute to an awkward environment. One day one of them will get hurt because people also come here to the public library from the homeless shelter not to far. And some of them are admitted from Jail/prison. They should really stop...
