Edit: owner responds in typical fashion of calling bad reviews spam/bots. I edited my original review because it wasn't showing up (suspicious much?) This led to the review as being listed as posted today.
Dirty plate, rude staff, loud music, smelly bathroom, poor food. I normally don’t write bad reviews but my girlfriend and I visited this restaurant expecting a very nice “treat yourself” meal. We were told they could not accommodate us at all with the weird combination of PICKLED red onions and bitter mushrooms on our porcini pizza. There was no ounce of sympathy as we were trying to be accommodating and asking if we could switch the pizza out for another option on the menu. They denied our request. The waitstaff were visibly gossiping with each other after we made this request. Might I clarify, they never bothered to check on us before we waved them down to make this one request. The lamb spaghetti sauce was a little sour, Too sour in my opinion. The restaurant was also freezing cold with blasting AC and I’m normally a very hot person. The music was also blasting and playing the same song over and over on different remixes. In my opinion, I have no idea why this restaurant has a 4.7 rating. Throughout our meal, we noticed they cleaned up the table next to ours and they put down a noticeably dirty plate (see picture). They didn’t pick this dirty plate back up to switch out for another one til we pointed it out. The single bathroom they had also reeked of piss. I would avoid every opportunity to ever visit this restaurant again if you don’t want to waste $30 on a bad piece of pizza and mediocre spaghetti I could probably make at home that...
No pidieron disculpas. Pero nos hace un comentario totalmente sobrado: Do you wanna change it?
We have been to this place because the good reviews, but we found the service very bad. Myboyfriend had a drop fall from the ceiling while we were waiting at the bar, and we thought it was water, but later we realized it was a drop of wine since they have bottles on the ceiling. We told the waitress, and then person in charge, who denied that it was wine, but sweat condensation. In any case, what we wanted was to give us some product to remove it quickly, but they didn't have it. They didn't apologize. Then I ordered a mortadella pizza without the pistachios (I'm allergic) and when the pizza arrives, it comes with the pistachios. I told them and they take it to make it without pistachios. They don't apologize either. After 10 minutes they told me that they can't make the pizza without pistachios either because the mortadella itself contains them. 1.Why haven't they told me anything since we were ordering? 2.Why does it say in the menu itself that if you were allergic it could be removed? We ended up ordering another one with serrano ham and bresaola. The waiters surrounded my boyfriend making comments about the drop of wine on his shirt, trying to watch it and speaking about it, since I was finding out everything. Quite unpleasant since it wasn't funny to us. Finally we ask for the bill and we saw that the receipt said mortadella pizza (without pistachio, by the way) and we told her that we had finally ordered the other one, we didn't know if it was the same price or not, and she brings us the menu to show us that the Serrano ham pizza costs 27 and mortadella one 24. But she made a totally unnecessary comment: Do you wanna change it? It seemed like she tried to humiliate us. The worst of all, is that in all the situations they dind’t apologyze. I attach a photo of the result of the shirt where it is clearly seen that it is wine and of the receipt where it also say “no nuts, nuts allergy” The...
Read moreConstantly in search of delicious brick oven pizza and Norma’s did not disappoint. It was a bustling Monday holiday and with only 2 servers (really one doing the greeting, seating, order taking, bill collecting) I was amazed at how well the meal played out. Short wait for our table but given the holiday uptick for a weekday lunch we didn’t mind. Of note, Norma’s doesn’t take reservations. The restaurant has outdoor seating, very close seating inside so those concerned about social distancing may prefer to sit outside or further back in the restaurant. With so many options on the menu we decided to start with salad and a side of olives. Then had the challenge of picking out main dishes. Decided to order one pasta - gnocchi with bolognese and one pizze - porcini. Of note, extra bolognese sauce on the side was $3, which we didn’t mind paying, however was surprisingly small ~2/3 cup, if that. The food was DELICIOUS! Gnocchi pillows of yumminess and the pizza was everything I had been looking for - light, perfectly fired and flavorful. Our server of the many hats tended to us and everyone else from beginning to end - I was exhausted watching him run around! Hoping to return...
