I got a full highlight by ELSA, an exceedingly fabulous hair stylist who was so caring in everything she did it showed down to the literal amount of refreshments I was offered. Those little things alone just make you feel comfortable and cared about . I would like to start off by saying that there are many hair stylists who want you in and out of their chair and do so from the moment you sit in their chair-everything is extremely fast paced, while they over estimate their ability to create a beautiful outcome that YOU wanted when that’s almost never the case I’m sorry I don’t care who you are if you get a full highlight and have long hair like I do, very outgrown hair like I did, they either try to tell you that the picture you show them of the desired hair color you want is unattainable in that one sitting where is that is so untrue. They just didn’t schedule enough time for you nor want to do the work it takes to obtain that look. Not ELSA, she took the time to make sure exactly what I wanted was created, really looked at the picture I had brought with me of how I wanted my hair to look as my hair was completely grown out with previous highlights and the top root even had the product “sun-in” from cvs/Walgreens in it because again my hair was so dark and grown out I couldn’t stand how dark it was so I tried lightening the top of my hair that was visible . And it was so refreshing to have come in contact with such an incredibly talented stylist who genuinely cared about my happiness and the outcome of the look. When I sat in her chair, we had a consultation which was very thorough and as stated previously NOT RUSHED. I didn’t feel like I was just anyone sitting in her chair or any random customer as this was the first time meeting ELSA and I can’t say I’ve had very many experiences like that . It’s usually all excuses to why the look I want is too intricate or too much for one sitting. Needless to say, I found my forever stylist here in Manhattan. Below is the finished outcome!! Thank you so much Elsa, there’s very few stylists like you who worked on my hair with a smile on your face the entire duration of the lengthy process as my hair color was so dark and long with dead ends while giving me an entirely new look . She was able to keep my length when it got to the point of cutting my hair while also using Olaplex to wash and condition and a K18 molecular treatment where you see immediate transforming results from practically any hair type to soft and silky in just one use. This is a full highlight NO color gloss (tint) over it just pure artwork, a delicious mix of highlighted blonde shades, no need for bandaging or covering up an accidentally over processed highlight. I told her I wanted a summer blonde with many many colors in it from to create dimension and crested a mirrored look to the reference picture I presented her with. I loved how she picked a strand of my already highlighted hair and asked me which color in it was my favorite for reference. Although this is a beautiful hair salon, I can’t guarantee anyone else working there will give you the same treatment I received just saying. The only reason I’d go back to that salon is because of ELSA as I was originally paired with a woman who thought she could do a full highlight in 2 hours including consultation (which was the amount of time she booked me for) tried handing me over to another hairdresser and when I spoke out about it another client who was probably near 60 years old decided to put her unsolicited two cents after overhearing my conversation, trying to invalidate my feelings while screaming at me for the entire salon to see and listen to. I left after that unsure if I’d ever return. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Shear Bliss Salon for a balayage and trim, and I must say that my experience with Emily was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for what turned out to be a truly blissful salon experience.

Emily worked her magic on my hair. She listened attentively to my preferences and offered valuable suggestions to achieve the perfect balayage. Her expertise was immediately evident as she carefully examined my hair and discussed the process with me, ensuring I was comfortable every step of the way.

The balayage itself was a work of art. Emily's skill and precision were evident in the beautiful blend of colors, the seamless transition from my natural hair color to the highlights, and the overall natural-looking effect. I couldn't be happier with the result – it was exactly what I had envisioned, if not better. The highlights added a wonderful dimension to my hair, and the trim she provided was the perfect finishing touch.

She genuinely cared about my satisfaction and ensured that I left the salon feeling confident and radiant.

The salon itself was clean, well-maintained, and exuded a sense of calm and tranquility. The staff was attentive, and the whole experience was a breath of fresh air in the midst of busy daily life.

I left the salon feeling like a new person, with hair that looked stunning and received compliments from friends and family. I wholeheartedly recommend Emily and Shear Bliss Salon for anyone seeking a top-notch hair transformation in a welcoming and serene environment.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Elsa at Shear Bliss! I had been going to the same stylist in LA for ten years, and even after moving to Vermont, I was still flying back for appointments because I was so particular about my hair. But that became a lot to manage, so I spent months searching for someone on the East Coast who I felt I could trust. I scoured Instagram, Yelp, Google, and even Reddit before finding Elsa—and let me tell you, she was beyond worth the search.

From the start, the receptionist (I wish I remembered her name) was SO kind. She immediately greeted me, took my coat, and got me a water. She continued to offer me drinks throughout my time there and was just so thoughtful! Elsa made sure she fully understood what I wanted. She looked at the pics I brought (from her instagram), listened to what I wanted, ensured she fully understood, and did a beautiful job! In fact, my hair looks even better than it did with my previous stylist in LA (who I still adore). Elsa is incredibly talented, detail-oriented, and truly cares about her clients’ happiness. On top of that, she and her assistant, Franchesca, were both an absolute joy to be around for the five hours I was there. Franchesca was so gentle removing my foils and washing my hair. Both Elsa and Franchesca blow dried my hair and i loved it! The entire experience was so seamless and enjoyable - I was honestly so anxious about trying somewhere new but it was the best decision!

If you’re as picky as I am when it comes to your hair, do yourself a favor and book with Elsa. She’s an absolute gem, and I’m beyond thrilled to have found her. Shear Bliss has gained a lifelong client!
