Lux Lash Lounge — Attraction in New York

I would like to start off this review by saying this is NOT a reflection of the salon itself!! They do a phenomenal job with hair and lashes. However, this review is in regards to Lana, who does microblading. I had gone to her back in 2020 with zero issues and felt no judgement at the time. Fast forward to now, I had been going back and forth from January till now to schedule an appointment with her and I’ve been getting told over and over again the “problems” I have with my skin. Initially, yes it was inflamed but after seeing my esthetician right away, getting her approval, and spending more money on skincare products, it still was not good enough and all of a sudden she requested a doctoral degree must be in place to give me an “ok” for my skin. There was plenty of attitude from the first time I went in January when it was supposed to be done. I was blamed for making her “wait” 2 hours and was told I shouldn’t even have come in. We were scheduled for 6:30/7. I came at 6:20 but because my skin was inflamed it was my fault for coming in although I had no idea it wasn’t good enough since I had sent a picture of my brows with no makeup the day before and nothing was mentioned about the redness in my skin. She also held onto my deposit but refused to schedule an appointment with me until my skin was “clear enough”. She then took 24 hours to send my deposit back when she claimed she’d send it once she landed (although she had wifi from posting on Instagram and putting a “!” On her message), but I had to ask her 2 times to send it. I am not a difficult person and do not like causing problems, I work in the service industry myself and would never deliver the attitude to my clients like I was given for months. She had been texting me a bunch but then when I asked why the doctoral degree matters, she said she’s on vacation so in short, she wouldn’t explain to me. It’s odd that someone who’s career is on eyebrows “seems” to know more than an esthetician who works on skin for a living when she said all I had was general redness, literally just regular skin but it was made to sound like I had a skin disease according to Lana. Precisely, the day I went in January she thought I had psoriasis…. Really? Seems like something a dermatologist or esthetician should be responsible for diagnosing. Which for the record, I do not have, nor do I even have rosacea!! Unless your skin is completely flawless, I would not consider going as you may waste your time. I’ve had to find another artist last minute before my vacation in 7 weeks. While I had been asking people I know for recommendations, one of my past clients had actually visited LuxLashLounge and told me she’s heard the attitude from the brow tech. It truly is a shame because her work is incredible and I tried so hard to make it work and was nice to her and even told her on text that her work is great and I wasn’t trying to be annoying but instead I was left hanging for 2 weeks which is when she went away and I had asked for my money back because there was no point in continuing this same cycle and getting the same answer over and over again. I get my hair done here and everyone else is amazing so do not let this review discourage you from other services, sadly my experience to get my brows microbladed was horrible and I felt extremely judged from this whole situation. I gave it two stars because the woman who did my lashes is super nice. However, I am extremely upset. This is not the first time I've done my lashes, I've been getting my lashes done for years. I decided to try them out because my original lash lady was not available. I've gotten my lashes done on Tuesday, the day before my vacation. When I got home a few fell off, but that didn't bother me because that is normal. Wednesday on the plane more started to fall off, more than normal. Now today is Thursday at 6:30 am. I woke this morning and I looked at myself in the mirror, every single lash has come off! Every single one! And I didn't even get into the water yet! Not even a full 3 days went by and every single lash has come off on both eyes! I can't even go back to them to get it fixed because I'm in a different country at the moment. This is the first time I've ever experienced lashes fully coming off within 24-48 hours. Unbelievable!

Update: After my complaint, I received a text from the manager apologizing for my experience, and later booked me for a free service with the same eyelash tech once I returned to the States. Went to my appointment and continued to receive great treatment as I did during my first appointment. The tech redid my lashes and apologized. My lashes are lasting and look great. This is my second time here and Yuliya did my lashes. I have super blond hard to see lashes and I always want mega volume lol Yuliya was amazing!!!! She’s such a sweetheart and a perfectionist she wants you to love your lashes and won’t let you leave unsatisfied. The first time she did them they were gorgeous and today I went in for my refill after two weeks with barely any lashes missing because they held up so well even after cooking an entire Thanksgiving dinner and somehow this time she managed to make them even more beautiful than the first time! I moved to Brooklyn worried I wouldn’t find a good lash tech as most of them are super far or downtown but I stumbled across their IG page which is included in the picture and I booked an appointment not knowing who would do my lashes. The place was super pretty and feminine with a hair salon in the back as well. The receptionists are all so sweet and professional. I was introduced to Yuliya and she turned out to be perfect for me :) I can talk to her and she makes it her business to make my lashes exactly how I want them.
