Murette's Banquet Hall — Attraction in New York

I booked the space to celebrate my mother's 80th birthday and my husband's birthday on 6/9/17. The service was excellent. Ruth went above and beyond to help me. I got to Brooklyn the night before from AZ. The party was starting at 7:15 p.m the next day. Not only was I stressed about the success of the party, but, while shopping for last minute items I fell. Ruth suggested I stopped shopping and allow her to help me.

She not only convinced me to add more elagance by going with table cloth instead of plastics, she also helped me decorate the place. By the time I got to the hall, there wasn't much for me to do.

We had a problem with the music equipment. My son and husband wanted to do the music. She had been so helpful, we told her not to worry about the music equipment as we traveled with our tiny Boss speaker.

But, Ruth hired a DJ for us. We were still dancing at midnight.

We ALL agreed that MURETTE'S Banquet Hall will be our spot! The place is beautifully laid out. There is a bar area, 2 very clean bathrooms and a patio. It is elegant and centrally located.

(4 and a half stars). This place is beautiful. There are alot of pluses to this space. They have a TV just in case you have a video/slide show that you want o play for your event. You can hook up your HDMI to tour laptop or bring a dvd as I believe they have a dvd player also.They have an auxiliary chord that you plug in for your music and they even have a cd player. They will even decorate and set up for you. I know many places do not do that for you. If tou are having a funeral tr ha would be a great place to go to as you wouldn't have to worry about setting up 1hr-2hrs before, while the funeral is going on (most places only give you that set time to do so where you can only set up 1-2hrs before the event). The only thing that I would say is that this space is only good if you are having about 88 people and you are sure about your guest list. You dont want to have more guests than that and then the space is too overcrowded or people...

Great space & backyard is a plus! Owners are very nice people and the price was great. Sound system was perfect for the size of the hall, bar was equipped with a freezer and coolers.

The only downfall was the owner helped himself and his friends to food that was catered without asking (more than one serving.) I have no problem with the staff helping themselves but at least ask the family if it was ok to dig into covered trays.

At the end of the night, I used the hall’s bartender and they were trying to keep my bottles and beers that I purchased.

It left a very bad impression being that I spent money on...
