Formal Statement of Complaint Regarding Incident at Traffic DMV Court
I am writing to express my deep frustration, trauma, and sense of injustice following an incident involving the NYPD and the subsequent handling of my case by the Traffic DMV Court located at 696 E Fordham Rd, Bronx, NY.
This experience began when I was pulled over by NYPD officers who claimed I had run a red light. I was in the area performing a food delivery — doing my job — when the light changed and I proceeded through due to momentum and traffic conditions ahead. I was genuinely unsure whether I had crossed the intersection in time, and I requested to review my dashcam footage to confirm the situation. That request was denied.
What followed was a disturbing escalation by the officers. I calmly asked to speak with a supervisor — multiple times — but those requests were also ignored. Instead of de-escalating the situation, the officers became increasingly aggressive. They shined high-beam lights directly into my car, yelled orders, and eventually drew a taser, dragging me out of my vehicle at taser-point — all over an alleged red light violation. The level of force and hostility used against me was entirely unnecessary and excessive.
To add insult to injury, a detective who arrived on the scene later informed me that I should not have been detained in the first place, as the violation was not serious enough to warrant such action. But by that time, the damage had already been done. The officers conducted a full search of my vehicle and personal belongings without a warrant, without probable cause, and without my consent. I believe this was a clear violation of my Fourth Amendment rights, which protect against unreasonable search and seizure.
What’s more distressing is that the officers then fabricated aspects of the incident, falsely claiming under oath in court that I refused to comply with their orders to exit the vehicle. One officer even testified that I was “resisting arrest,” which is completely untrue — I was never resisting in any form, physically or otherwise. In fact, I was not even under arrest until they escalated the situation. This false narrative was used to justify their actions and a bogus charge that seemed created purely to cover their own misconduct.
At every turn, I attempted to comply, communicate, and de-escalate. The officers refused to acknowledge my perspective, refused to allow evidence from my dashcam to be reviewed, and refused supervisory oversight. The supervising officer present also declined to review any bodycam or dashcam footage, instead taking the word of the officers involved without question. This blind support of potentially unlawful behavior only deepened the injustice.
In court, I hoped for a fair hearing. Instead, I faced a process that felt entirely biased and uninterested in the truth. The judge appeared dismissive and rushed — giving me no meaningful opportunity to present my side or the broader context of what had occurred. The proceedings did not resemble an impartial hearing, but rather a conveyor belt aimed at pushing people through quickly and collecting fines. There was no sense that justice or due process was the priority.
Yes, I now recognize that I may have technically crossed the red light — but this should have been a minor infraction, addressed with a warning or ticket, not the spark for a traumatic and unjust experience. This could been all avoided if I would just gave the driver license. What I encountered instead was an excessive use of force, a disregard for my civil rights, and a court process that seemed to prioritize expediency and punishment over fairness and truth.
The actions of the officers involved, and the failure of the court system to provide meaningful recourse, have left me feeling violated, unheard, and deeply disillusioned with the very institutions that are meant to protect and serve.
The so-called “Judge” sided with the officer, and literally when the officer read his statement he stutter and lied in few his sentences...

BRONX residents have elected a very powerful black woman as their district attorney ( Darcel Clake) thinking that she is going to go for all this corruption going on in the the police department and the corrupt system that is heavily against minorities but things are getting even worse. My dear people our country is worse than third world countries, the corruption that is going on in this place under the Judge's, lawyers and the cops is so thick. This is serious and I feel for everyone that has been affected by this evils trying to make minorities life hard.
Now let me start my story, I live in Westchester county and have never been pulled over by police ever, I work as a Registered Nurse and I travel a lot. I went to visit my friend at 182nd on Walton July 10th or so, while leaving with my friend to funeral I was pulled over by police, not one officer but 5 Officers, one in front of my car, 2 on my side 2 on my friend side 1 at the back, I asked if everything ok? they said u didn't stop at the stop sign, which one I asked? Because I'm right at the stop sign so what are you people talking about? They begun to make a seen as though I was in a stolen vehicle, killed someone or had drugs on me. I ask them to voice down. I was shaking ,scared I started thinking about my kids. I thought are they going to shoot us or what? As seen on TV every day, They were all holding on to their guns my friends, I begged them I'm not a threat and so they should let me go to my funeral, they took my documents issued me failure to stop. I had a date which was 5 months after, went thinking if the system works things will go my way because I stopped at the sign and had witness. Well that wasn't the case. Only one officer came by the name McCormick a young white officer the 4 Hispanic didn't show up,I got a black old woman as a judge, the officer spoke and even said my car was Honda Accord while I have Hyundai Sonata but the judge sided with the officer said to me if I cannot prove I stopped at the sign then she sides with the officer? They gave me 3 points, I do not care about the point they gave me ,what I do care is who else's life are they messing with falsehood ? I'm fortunate to be a nurse money is not a problem at all for me what about others? If you are not able to pay for lawyer to do the job for you then you are automatically Guilty. The day of court, everyone in my room without a lawyer was found guilty, how is that possible? I'm going to write the Bronx district attorney general and will keep Writing until things calm down, u can't write the police commissioner, they all work together with the corrupt officers to make our people lives hard. After i got home, I bought 2 expensive dash cam to capture my driving record and every incident. May we all stay from these people as much as we can, they are very corrupt and they will be paid by the Almighty God not us. Stay...
Read moreOn Thursday May 15, 2025 I had an appointment at the DMV to renew my driver license. My appointment was scheduled for 9:45am. I arrived at approximately 7:30am. However, the DMV goes by your appointment scheduled but you can be called before the actual time of your scheduled appointment. My advice to persons making an appointment with the DMV at the Fordham location in the Bronx is to be there at least one hour before their scheduled time, unless your appointment is at the DMV opening time which is at 7:30am. For example if your appointment time is for 9am be at the DMV at 8am because they will call your scheduled time before the actual time if that makes sense. The security personnel are verbally commanding to keep people in order but at the same time security personnel are cordial and very helpful. One thing I notice was the the security officers will go out of their way to assist you just as long there is mutual respect! I know this because I was in line for approximately one hour and was able to observe their method of operations. When your time is up you enter the DMV and you are instructed to make another line to check in with all your documents. When you approach the desk, a DMV agent will double check your documents to make sure you have all appropriate documents. If you don't have the appropriate documents the agent will let you know what you will need. If you have all the appropriate documentations you will then proceed to another check in agent where you must show the QR code strip to be scan. The QR code will confirm your actual appointment and the agent will issue you a number ticket and yiu will wait until your number is called. You will go to the respected window announced. An agent will take your photo and will ask you to wait to be called again with the same ticket number. When your ticket number is called again you will proceed to the corresponding window where another agent will process/review your documents and if all goes well the agent will produce your temporary license and two weeks later you will receive your actual ID or Driver ID license. I forgot to mention, before you enter the DMV you must show security personnel on your phone the appointment information or they will not allow you to go in. In my opinion I did have a bit of a hassle but one of the DMV supervisors by the name of Ms. Higgins assisted me and I was in and out very quickly. Ms. Higgins was very professional and cordial. Overall I give the DMV at the Fordham location a thumbs up. Advice: Key word and action, be cordial and patient and you will see how the process...
