Great audition studio perfect for your next emotional meltdown! When you arrive, exit the elevators and take two immediate lefts. Follow the hallway to the end and walk left past the water fountains. With any luck one of the two handicapped bathrooms will be available and you can immediately relieve yourself of all suppressed emotions. The fourth or 12th floor will do nicely, but be advised that the fourth floor accommodates Tisch classes full of students blissfully unaware of the degradation and rejection that awaits them. The spaces are typically very clean. The waiting areas for parents or guests are pretty spacious with limited seating and tables. They also have two computers on each floor you can use for free and a printer if you forgot your dance resume (small fee for printing). They sell water, yogurts, fruits and have vending machines with more options for drinks and snacks. The staff being hired has become increasingly friendly over the years. Most of the rooms have windows for ventilation; all studios come equipped with fans and an AC unit (AC units are not accessible in the winter, fall and sometimes spring months). Love this place. Clean. Organized. The people running the front desk are friendly and helpful. I believe most rooms have mirrors, chairs and pianos, but it's all laid out on their websites. Pearl Studios is not just a place to go to for auditions, people rent it out weekly for classes, rehearsals and various projects. It takes up several floors of the building it's housed in. We took the express elevator up to the 12th floor because we forgot we were on the 3rd floor. 😆 No big deal. Make sure to bring identification for the guard downstairs.
