Best Bagel and Coffee is a single location restaurant in NYC, New York known for their house made bagels! You can buy their bagels straight up or they make a variety of sandwich options that you can choose from that use their bagels as the bread. The atmosphere is like a classic deli, very open with some seating and you order at the counter. They usually have an order area and then you pay with the cashier but because of Covid, ordering and paying is done at one area. The food here is good and the bagels are on point, but maybe stick with the classic deli-style sandwiches if you decide to go the sandwich route. Service was lacking in attention but was okay. I would definitely come back here to order bagels and shmear!
My wife and I got three bagel sandwiches, the Bacon, Egg and Cheese(BEC), The Roast Beef Inferno, and the Chicken Parmesan sandwiches. To start, the BEC was awesome! For the price, the portion was huge and didn't feel small at all. Definitely something that can fill you up for breakfast. You can choose your cheese and we got cheddar, of course. The egg was done very well as it was layered and didn't taste overcooked. Some people complain about the amount of bacon but I thought it was fine. The more bacon, the more expensive it'll be so if you want more you'll have to pay extra. The wife said it was a bit crispy for her taste but I liked it. Overall a good breakfast sandwich.
My wife got her chicken Parm sandwich on a Bialy. A Bialy is like a bagel except it's not boiled like a traditional bagel is and has no hole in the center and has a dimple instead. The bagel is more breadlike and doesn't have the pull and chewyness that a traditional bagel has. Her sandwich had sliced, breaded chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, marinara and parmesan cheese. The sandwich was big and had plenty of chicken, sauce and cheese. She made the right choice with the Bialy because it ate well with the ingredients. The only complaint that we both had with the chicken is that it was a bit overcooked and some parts were tough to eat. Still tasty nonetheless.
My sandwich, the Roast Beef Inferno, had sliced roast beef, pepperjack cheese, hot cherry peppers, pickled jalapenos and hot mustard. Now regarding the name, something that has "inferno" in the name should burn my mouth and I was looking for a spicy sandwich but this was hardly spicy. Maybe change the name to Roast Beef Singe. I had the sandwich toasted with lettuce, tomato and onion added and it was very good besides the heat issue. Roast beef was piled high and was juicy. The flavors were there and it was enjoyable. I had this sandwich on an "everything" bagel and I think that complemented well.
Service is just quick, counter service but when we were ready to order we sat in front of the cashier for at least a minute while she was complaining about a customer and we were just staring at her waiting to order. We ended up being helped by the cashier next to her when she was done with the other customer in line because our first cashier was busy complaining.
Overall, Best Bagel and Coffee makes some killer bagels but their sandwiches could use some work, at least the ones we tried. I also wish they had more chip variety as they only offered regular lays. I can't speak for the rest of the menu but this is definitely a place to check out if you're in NYC!

Read moreBest Bagel Coffee located on 35th St between 7th & 8th Ave is my go-to bagel spot in New York City (NYC).
Location: It is centrally located in midtown. It is walking distance from Penn Station, so accessible to all transportation methods and there's plenty of on-street parking out front on either side. It is worth noting that the store is in the heart of the garment district, so if you're a seamstress or designer, grab a bagel and some fabric!
Food: I can always count on fresh bagels. I always order a buttered and toasted Everything Bagel with extra cream cheese and they never skimp on the cream cheese. You can get fresh squeezed juice here that is worth the extra dollar you get charged.
Popularity: This place is popular among tourists and locals, alike, so expect it to be busy and there to be long lines. However, don't fret! The line moves very fast. Don't be an annoying tourist. Order your bagel and step to the side. When they call your number, grab your bag and go.
Pricing: Its New York City. Don't expect $1 day old grocery store bagels, but BBC is reasonably priced when compared to the competition.
Dining Options: You can totally dine in, but seating is limited. I've never dined in. I usually grab my bagel and go to my car to devour it in parts. I've seen folks use the pub tables outside to stand and eat their food.
Delivery: I've seen delivery drivers pull up to grab orders, but I am not sure which delivery platforms BBC takes part in.
Why the 4-stars and not 5? Last time I was here, the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few days. Don't believe me, check the pics. They usually have high sanitation standards, but this day those standards...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal bagels and coffee! Best Bagel and Coffee in NYC truly lives up to its name. I recently visited and was blown away by the quality and taste of their offerings.
The bagels are perfection - fresh, chewy, and generously sized. They're hand-rolled and kettle-boiled daily on the premises, ensuring that unmistakable New York bagel texture. I opted for bacon, egg and cheese on a rainbow bagel, and it was a flavor explosion.
Their coffee is equally impressive. I tried their latte, and it was possibly the best I've had in town. The line was long, stretching out the door, but don't let that discourage you. Despite the crowd, the service was remarkably quick and efficient. The staff works like a well-oiled machine, keeping the line moving at an impressive pace.
What sets Best Bagel and Coffee apart is their attention to detail and commitment to quality. They use all-natural flavors and the freshest ingredients available. The variety of spreads and sandwich options is impressive, catering to all tastes.
While seating is limited, the fast-moving line and quick service mean you won't be waiting long to savor your bagel and coffee. The staff's efficiency is truly commendable, especially given the constant stream of customers.
If you're a bagel lover visiting NYC, this place is an absolute must-visit. It's not just a meal; it's a quintessential New York experience that will leave you craving more. The long line is a testament to their popularity, but the quick service ensures you'll be enjoying your bagel in no time. Five...
