Chef Yu — Restaurant in New York

I went here over a month ago with family and had a terrible experience.

First - The female waitress that was there on a Saturday afternoon at no point was ever friendly. Perhaps it's the culture but she has no manners or hospitality. Second, the place was mostly empty and an older male waiter was walking around sneezing without covering his nose the entire time. Happy he did not wait on us.

Food - The food is good, my drinks were great, especially since they were half price for happy hour. I ordered the spicy beef with sauce over veges. The waitress told me it's spicy and I advised her that I am okay with that. It all seemed very fresh and looked good when it came to the table but I did not like the flavor as I believed it had taste of ginger, which I hate. I told her about it and she said it doesn't have any ginger and she's not giving me my money back. Then it all went downhill...first of all, I didn't ask for my money back. I told them I thought it had ginger in it. She gets an attitude so I told her to get her manager. Her manager comes over and I told the woman that I just wanted to exchange it for a dish of equal value. The manager says, "the waitress told you it was spicy and you knew it". I said nothing about this meal being too spicy, actually I like it spicy..just didn't like the flavor. Then when a couple of my cousins wanted to say something because we had already not liked the way we were being treated, the manager, puts her hand up as if to say "stop talking"..we immediately told her that we did not appreciate that. I told her to give me my check and F--- your food. We paid the bill to the cent with absolutely NO tip.

While we were organizing our bill, the waitress with the crappy attitude has the nerve to come over and ask us are we ready to pay. I told her to go away and we'll let her know when were are ready. You will NOT be rude to us and then rush us. We spent almost $200 on food and drinks in that place and on a very hot day in the middle of Times Square for 2 hours, there were never any more than 20 people there including us, upstairs and downstairs. I would think that you would go out of your way to accommodate customers since you don't have any business on a Saturday. It's not like there are not a ton of other places to eat in that area. I went to an Irish place two blocks away a few weeks back, packed restaurant, same price point, great service and food, no attitudes. See how that works?

So for over glorified Chinese Food, I'm gonna say, find a better place to go. You can get take out...

We came here cause we We’re feeling like having some Chinese food. After looking over the reviews and mostly considering how close it was to Where we were staying we decided to give it a try. Arriving we were seated right away and the ppl seemed friendly enough. Our waitress seemed very eager for us to order and came by asking us if we were ready to order a few times. And was hovering around us. We ended up ordering the salt and pepper seafood, beef with Chinese broccoli(gailan), spicy basil chicken, shrimp fried rice, and a shrimp with pineapple and mayo. They brought out the shrimp with mayo and the salt and pepper seafood first. Pretty quickly. But we found the salt and pepper chicken to be a bit too salty very strong and made us wish the rice had come Out with it. And then once we were done with that they brought out the rest. We had an issue with one of the dishes where they brought out beef with broccoli not the beef with Chinese broccoli aka gailan. We know the difference. But the funny thing was the guy bringing out the dish and not the waitress who took our order stood there and argued with us saying this is what we ordered and that we were mistaken. That we didn’t order properly and kept getting irate because we said that’s not what we wanted. Then another waitress came and tried to explain the difference between the two and again said we were wrong. And finally our waitress came and said we were wrong until I pointed out that we specifically asked for beef with gailan and she was the one who said their menu instead of saying gailan said Chinese broccoli. At that point I guess they recognized their mistake and took it back bringing us our actual order. Aside from that little mishap. The food was a bit bland. The basil chicken although good felt like it was missing something the beef as well and the fried rice. For what they charge and the food they serve it seemed a bit lacking. Overall it’s an ok place but not one I’d go back to if I had a choice.

And as with all other Chinese places. They added an automatic service fee. Not sure if they deserved that 20% they charged.

If you do end up going just be very specific when you order and make sure you get what you ask for. And be careful not...

Terrible service the most rude obnoxious staff never return again first there waiters sat us without water for 20 min then became very rude when I asked for a little time to order never even got a beverage menu then the really annoying part came later when it was time to pay they patronized my friends who I went with for not tipping even tho they were going to after the money was taken like most establishments do they came up to our table and proceeded to say where’s the tip you can’t leave without putting a tip and that there’ll be a problem without a tip after they already wouldn’t do 3 separate checks so they would get a bigger tip but when it came time for me to pay with a card they claimed it was declined repeatedly which was not true as there’s money in the card and it worked 10 min later when I had to repay a friend for paying with there card now I’m talking with my bank as I don’t trust the fact they said it was declined and would not be surprised if they tried to steal my card then after leaving I realized my headphones weren’t with me which Ik i left on the table as my friend has a recording of my headphones being on the table when I returned to get them the front would not give me a straight answer telling me to search for myself and after looking I asked the waiter I had before even mentioning I was missing something he proceeds to say he didn’t take anything already showing he took them but he proceeded to say if I can’t find them I need to leave and that they wouldn’t search saying I should just go to the front again after going back to the front the lady rudely says to me I need to leave and that it’s my own problem now and that they would do nothing to look I will never return here and I suggest no one supports this scummy business if I had the ability to...
