This massage store started cutting the time on the alarm clock during massage secretly, especially during busy afternoons, so be careful and warned. Today, the masseur cut 4 minutes while receiving the massage. I felt his suspicious activity around the clock so when I raised my face, he stopped. When the massage was done and looked at my watch finding 4 minutes early, the person had already been left for another customer at their different location! A few months ago, a different guy also did the same for 2 minutes during the daytime. They don’t do that evenings because maybe it’s slower. It’s difficult to know because facing down during the massage and feeling good, but don’t think that we don’t check the time the massage starts with our watches. The massage was still great as always, and he did everything I requested, but the tip would be reduced from the normal amount and you would get this honest feedback if you ripped off time so be careful. I don’t think it’s the masseur’s intention but systematic by the direction from the management, to squeeze more customers (I made an advance reservation much ahead of time). Their price keeps going up but also cheating time..why are they so greedy? It’s a sad fact that they do that to long-time customers like me because the massage is definitely the best and everybody has a great technique. I will still go tho because again, the massage is definitely the best. But if they keep doing this, the worst scenario is reporting to the NYC Department of Consumer because it’s the same as stealing money from the customers. It might be a few minutes, but it’s not right. That experience made me lose trust and confidence after being a customer for...

I had high hopes for a relaxing Valentine’s Day foot massage, but this place completely missed the mark. My partner and I arrived at Renew Day Spa at 12:45 p.m. for our 1 p.m. appointment, only to find a scene that felt anything but professional. Several staff members were lounging in the massage chairs, glued to their phones, casually checking merchandise—zero sense of attentiveness or hospitality. First impressions matter, and this was not a good one.
The worst part? The overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke in the massage room. It was unbearable. Instead of walking into a peaceful spa, it felt like stepping into a smoke-filled lounge. The scent clung to the air, the furniture, and eventually, our clothes. Relaxation? Impossible. We quickly asked to be transferred to their 78 Bowery location, and thankfully, they accommodated us.
After stepping outside, we saw the problem firsthand—many staff members were smoking near the entrance. No wonder the smell lingers inside. It’s clear this location lacks basic cleanliness, professionalism, and attention to detail. A spa should be a place of tranquility, not a place where customers have to beg for a smoke-free environment.
Unless major improvements are made—stricter hygiene policies, proper staff training, and a serious upgrade in ambiance—I won’t be returning. This place has potential, but right now, it’s a total...
Read moreI’ve been going to Renew Day Spa for well over 7 years. They have many massage therapists and allow you to choose gender and pressure to make you as comfortable as possible. If you find someone you like, you can always request the person you prefer. Some people focus more on body work, stretching, and include head massages in full body, so you can really find someone who fits you perfectly. If you have a specific issue or request, they will make sure you get your preference, just ask. I usually get a 60 minute full body massage at least once or twice a month. They have many other packages that are affordable and very competitive in Manhattan. Not only is it the cheapest I’ve found, they also have a punch card that results in a free hour massage for your loyalty - no better value in town. They often have availability within the hour if you need something last minute. They are open early and close late. You can make appointments at either location online or on the phone. I’ve never waited more than an hour during their busiest hours, which means you have time to wander around Chinatown for snacks and boba tea nearby. Whether you’re working in town or visiting, they will help make your day better. Give them your business, you’ll be taken care of and you won’t...
