$45 for wash and cut is such a good deal, but you get what you pay for.
Wash: arrived 10 min early, wash took 10 min. water splatters on your face. People say the shampoo feels really good here but it felt normal, I didn’t get a massage type of wash. I actually really didn’t like how the person’s nails were scratching my head really hard.
I came in speaking English, and they spoke English back. Idk why all of a sudden they were speaking to me in Chinese. They didn’t even ask, they just looked at me confused when I wasn’t replying to them because I thought they were talking to each other, not me. I had to say I don’t speak Chinese (I am not Chinese).
Blow dry: after cutting off a bit for the length, he blow dried my hair, used a round brush to blow it out. It looked a bit puffy at this point so he used the straightener for some parts.
Cut: lost the back of my earring when I was taking them off for the cut — maybe that was bad omen. I asked for long layers and wispy bangs. He barely looked at the reference pic showed him and started cutting right away. I asked for more layers after a bit and he said that this is long layers (looked like 1 inch). I showed him the pic again and he cut face framing layers because that’s what I wanted. Those face framing layers didn’t go as short as I wanted them to but it felt rushed since it was over the 30 min time slot so I stopped asking. Looking at my hair later, I noticed some of the pieces towards the front that should be shorter than the rest of my hair are longer so it looks uneven and heavy towards the front.
No style after cut. I thought he would style my hair at the end since that’s what I see online, like people with curls and stuff. But maybe he ran out of time for me. I was kinda upset that i was leaving with my hair looking like this, not styled, since I had plans later. My bangs were left flat on my face so I had to push them aside to get them out of my face. I would’ve brought my hair roller with me if I knew they wouldn’t curl my bangs.
Overall the cut was very choppy and not what I wanted. Maybe it would look better styled, but it’s just feels too thick and not layered enough. I really hate my hair cut. I tipped $10 too so paid $55 for it. My birthday is in a few days so this is a lesson to not get a hair cut right before anything important.
Other hair salons charge $100 for a cut, but I guess you do pay for more time and attention to detail. My fault for...
Read moreDO NOT GO TO THIS SALON FOR HAIR COLOR This past week, my two friends and I had an extremely disappointing experience at this salon. We chose it because it was cheaper than others. Our expectations were low because of the price, but they still managed to really disappoint us. First of all, Our appointment was at 11, but my friend's hair wasn't even touched until 11:50. This was already a bad start, but since my hair was being bleached, we couldn't just walk out. I showed the stylist our inspiration picture, hoping for the best. By the time we were done, my hair wasn't the color I wanted. I understand that exact matches are tough, so I was willing to be flexible. But my friend's hair, which was permed, was damaged and burnt. The stylist, Nelson, blamed it on her previously colored hair, which didn't make sense because some strands were burnt while others were fine. Shockingly, he let her leave with burnt hair without even offering to trim it. When we complained, he reluctantly offered to trim her hair for free. The next day, my hair looked atrocious. The lower part was pinkish-purple, the top part was reddish-brown, and there were shades of orange, pink, purple, and brown all blended together. It was nothing like what I asked for. I understand color matches aren't always perfect, but how could half of my hair be a completely different color? My other friend who got her hair colored had an equally bad experience. The color wasn't blended at all, and you could clearly see mismatched strands. It looked terrible. None of us were satisfied. I hadn't colored or touched my hair for five years and wanted to do something special, but I ended up hating it within hours. The two of us who wanted color had to go to a different salon to get it fixed because I refused to return to this incompetent salon. They clearly lack the skills needed, as shown by the stylist's inability to blend colors properly. I have gone to this place for haircuts before and had an okay experience, though I felt rushed. But this week's experience was terrible. They should have been honest if they couldn't color our hair. I might have returned for a haircut because it's cheap, but now I never will. I regret going here and spending money at this salon. I would rather have paid more at an expensive place than go through this experience again. We wasted so much time and money because of their...
Read more$45 haircut sounds good until you have to return for a fix, and then have to go to another salon entirely for them to fix your botched haircut.
I will not be returning. I had gone here and got burned before, and I decided to give it another chance. My stylist there gave me a lopsided cut. After I went home, and realized this crooked cut was noticeable to me and my friends, I texted the stylist to ask if I could stop by again to get it fixed. He said “no problem” and that I could come again the next week. Great! I give him a heads up the day I will be coming by and he says “Ok.”
When I get there, he doesn’t arrive for 15 min. I’m waiting in the chair and it’s apparent he has left the store entirely to run an errand, and his next appointment is already waiting after me. He arrives finally and I try to kindly show him the picture where I can tell the hair looks off kilter. He doesn’t look, and instead combs my hair aggressively to the point where my head is flying back. He doesn’t notice this or doesn’t choose to stop. He says “I don’t see it, but it’s not up to me.”
He starts hacking at my hair and starts making it shorter and shorter. I ask him to not cut too much extra, just enough to even it out. He nods, yet starts cutting both sides. He is rushing so fast, at this point, that I can visibly see it getting worse, but he seems so upset and rushed for his next client. I asked if he at least evened out the center from a V to a U, because the V did not look good on me. I am met with no reply.
At the end of this “fix” he keeps draping my hair towards the front, and then when I want to see the back, he points the mirror at the floor. There is little to no words exchanged from him at this point, until I say “Um, okay…” when he clearly wanted me out of his seat.
Since I was rushed out, I couldn’t see the final product. And when I got home and saw it, I decided “thats a wrap on 18 pell.” There is no way to describe this besides “revenge haircut,” and not...
