This area in southern Manhattan was created around 1875 and the area today is very developed with restaurants, cafes and bookstores. The most famous features of Chinatown are the Chinese signs of the shops. Chinatown attracts foodies and tourists to its many restaurants with Chinese and Southeast Asian flavors, serving traditional food. Busy side streets are lined with souvenir shops, bubble tea shops and markets selling everything from fresh and dried fish to herbs and spices. Locals frequent the leafy Columbus Park. Doyers Street, Pell Street & Mott Street are...

Hmmm….

It’s a very short street with a lot of history.

I know a lot of people take tours but you can just read about it and go see for yourself.

Lots of the places don’t open until 11 am..especially if you are interested in grabbing a sit down meal.

Lots of great authentic places , choices, and dumplings.

This street has some outdoor seating.

Most places only take cash. No worries there are a lot of ATMs available.

Bathrooms are for customers only.

We walked the area bc we stayed local but if not local just...

Doyers Street Filmed yesterday in Chinatown’s Doyers Street in the rain. “Doyers Street, a one block stretch with a sharp bend in the middle in Manhattan’s Chinatown, is one of the most historically rich streets in this neighborhood. It became the deadliest street in American history. This street has seen the most gang violence in the history of the city. Doyers Street was literally stained red during its most violent years, earning the street its immortal nickname: “The Bloody Angle.” “Today, Doyers is a peaceful pedestrian only street and more famous as the home of Nam Wah Tea Parlor, which has been serving baked goods and more recently dim sum since 1920. It has also served as a filming location for Justin Timberlake’s “Take Back the Night” music video, and more recently the film John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum.” Tag someone you’d like to visit Chinatown with during the Lunar New Year celebration. 📍Doyers Street, Chinatown, Manhattan, New York City #chinatown #chinatownnyc #doyersstreet #nyc #newyork #newyorkcity #manhattan #shotoniphone #ilovenyc #lunarnewyear #chinesenewyear #loves_nyc #online_newyork #likenewyorkcity #MySecretNYC #nycityworld #timeoutnewyork #ItsTimeForNYC #newyorkarea #nyclives #extreme_newyork #aspassopernewyork#ThingsToDoInNYC #nycexplore #bookitnewyork #NewYorkCityFeelings
