They need to hire professional adults to work at this location.
I purchased a Fitness Pass from my employer which gives me access to 10,000+ around the country, a program Retro Fitness is def a part of. I went to sign up at this location and the person working the front desk had an attitude as if I was disturbing them to sign up for a benefit that is honored there. I was met with short responses and no help when I showed my Fitness Pass benefit card. The person even called the manager and said āShe said she had access to 10,000 gyms or something???ā as if I would make that up. Super unprofessional tone of voice. For context: Gyms have access to these internal portals such as Tivity Health or Prime to accommodate people like this.
Even after being told this with my employer representative on the phone, the person at the front desk still was unable to help me telling me that I need to leave my name, birthday and email address on a random notepad in the office.
Iāve never been asked to do this when using this service. (That information is given when registering for the Fitness Pass, which could be seen had the front desk person accessed the system.) I expressed to the front desk person Jordan that Iām uncomfortable with that and in between texts to a āmanager,ā they said that the current manager ādoesnāt know what heās doing,ā and apparently hired another manager who is offsite and doesnāt come into that location. Iām not even sure if this mystery manager is actually employed by Retro Fitness or doing a favor for the other no-show manager. I asked if they left credentials with them since Jordan is working alone, to which I was told no, which is also unusual. If a person is working the front desk, they should be able to access those internal systems without waiting for someone to text them back. This isnāt a mom and pop gym.
I was told a real manager would call me back. Iām not sure if one exists, I never received a call. Very frustrated and disappointed at the lack of customer service I received. I was very excited to begin my fitness journey here, esp since the classes were exactly what I was looking for. This location is very unprofessional...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a member of this gym since October 2017. There are maaaannnnyy things to LOVE about this branch!! They are very clean (thanks Sylvia!), have all the equipment that you will need to whip into shape, and have an infectious culture of wellness that permeates throughout the membership. Everyone is helpful, especially the trainers. I have been very fortunate to spend time with Oelex, Hatuey and Sean. They are amazing professionals who genuinely want to see your body transform. Currently, I am training with Sean and I would recommend him to anyone who is in search of a trainer who will push you to your limits while being understanding of real life issues (e.g., work, emergencies, lack of motivation, "lady"). He is patient and, above all, willing to put in the time so that you get the most out of your workout. I can't tell you how many sessions where I have tried to run down the time by complaining or taking breaks... that doesn't bother him - you WILL finish your workout! With that kind of support, who wouldn't want to return and try to improve? I'm very grateful for this gym. The personable professionalism displayed by Danny, God bless him. He has a saint-like patience and is a professional in handling difficult patrons like myself (I'm not that bad). Oh yes, who can forget Jasmine and Nelly?! They are amazing! I'm telling you, every single person who works at this branch contributes to it's awesomeness. Good job hiring team. Even if I don't want to work out, I'll go just so I can treat myself to Jazz or Nelly's delicious shake (chocolate mocha). People, the ratings are like this for a reason - and it's affordable! There is no reason to go...
Read moreI love the gym. But I don't like how they rearranged the machines recently. A few people are complaining that they made it worse. ⢠The seated military press bench should be put back to where it normally was. This is a lot of empty space that is not being utilized. The only thing there is the bicep bench. ⢠The seated military press bench and the two flat bench press are so close to each other that you can not utilize all the pegs to put your weights back. The employees preach to the customers to put their weights back, but when the pegs are so close to each other in this particular instance, it's physically impossible to put your weights back further leading to a disorganized gym. ⢠The Dumbell area, with the 3 Adjustable benches is toooo congested because of the seated military press bench. I am all for improvement and change, but it has to be functional and for the better of the customers and employees and trainers. I really believe if a survey was done about the rearrangement that was made, I guarantee you that the customers would agree that the gym was better before the benches and machines were moved around. Other than that, I love Retrofitness, I have been going to this gym for 5+ years. I love how the owner reinvest in the gym, ( new equipment, new LED lighting etc). It's...
