Captain Gallagher and his team are very professional and clear at explaining potential future careers in the Marines. From my first initial meeting with the Captain and GySgt. Queenly, all the way to submitting my application for Marine OCS, the staff helped in many ways. The OS Manhattan team assisted with all the paper work and training plans needed to help me prepare to be the best applicant I can be both physically, mentally, and as a person. They helped me put up a competitive PFT score along with the resources to pass the ASTB, and provided me the opportunity to get examined to potentially fly down in Pensacola.
The office itself further instilled confidence throughout my senior year of college by working alongside my college baseball coaching staff and myself to navigate ways to keep me involved with the pool of applicants during a busy baseball season as well by creating and providing events to attend to help get to know others in the process and also learn more about what being a marine officer is all about. Through events such as mini OCS, tours to the Marine Corps museum, Dan Daly Cup, weekly workouts, and weekly classes this station will do all they can to provide the opportunities and information to give you the confidence to succeed.
I would recommend this place for anyone that wants to learn and be a part of the greatest team that the nation has to offer. Through this office I have made memories I will never forget and more importantly form relationships that I will continue to take with me...
Read moreCapt Harper, SSgt Amaya, and Mr. Martinez have gone above and beyond to help me and my fellow applicants complete the application process, especially considering my busy job schedule and sometimes inability to make it into the office due to work constraints. Capt Harper is a Pace University alumni and therefore understands first-hand the tempo of living in New York City as a current or former college student. This is evident as he and the rest of the staff at the office are accommodating, yet still very strict in upholding the standards expected of Marine Officer applicants. I trust that when this current staff at the Manhattan OSO rotate out and are replaced by new Marines and civilians, the quality attention to applicants’ success will carry...
Read moreConsistently professional service from all Marines present including Capt. Harper, SSgt. Amaya, and both LTs. I've been in contact with this office since 2019 and have always been treated with respect, professionalism, and understanding. Even when it was clear I was not ready to begin the officer selection process or as prepared as I should have been.
After having seen the relationship between other candidates and their OSOs; it is clear that the Manhattan office is one of the best run, capable, and helpful offices...
