I went to queens center mall there on 4-15-25 time 10:15am . The black American guy he always watching me whenever I come since day one the Sephora opened up I have been going to the store. I have never been watched like that he is always inside the office or whatever he is he recognizes me right away he comes running down like I’m going to steal something from the store. I’m not a thief you guys have a lot of brand name so I go there this time I went after long time, when I am gone he goes back to the office. So you guys think I am the only thief they are so many thieves coming to the store just because I don’t dress properly so I am a thief. I have seen people dress properly but see them steal. I told the manager before on the phone the tall CHRIS he didn’t say anything about the black American so today I went the black American came close to me to see I was the same person when I was talking to the sales person. I was there he was on the floor when I told the manager CHRIS he is following me he is like he’s not following me today he was putting things in the shelves he was pretending so I told CHRIS to help me or call the sales person to help me. I started to curse at the black American guy and CHRIS tells me to leave the store me without touching any of the sales person the manager calls on the black American guy to get me out of the store and threatening me to call the cops because I wasn’t leaving the store instead of telling me to leave the store CHRIS the manager should have told the guy not to follow me. Because I never steal anything from the store why should I, after the black American guy the sales woman comes and she tells me to leave the store I told them I want to buy one item then I leave they refused me to not to buy anything from there , CHRIS knows I told him this before on the phone. I buy 100’s of items from there and I even go to Sephora at Austin street in forest Hills too I have been going there since day one. I know Regina since day one they all know me you guys can call them and tell them how I am and how much I spend money. Regina knows my name already she works there in the morning. When she sees me always call me by my name, I don’t think queens center Sephora manager CHRIS knows how to handle his customers especially the sales person coming to me and talking to the way she did and she told me she is the manager. I come there because you guys have more stocks than Austin st. The black American guy goes on the floor only when I’m there after I leave he goes in the back so it’s not fair that he only comes when I’m there. They threaten to call the cops on me for nothing they harrassed me I should have called the cops on them. The company hasn’t called me back what their...
Read moreThis Sephora is good, it's big and they usually get a lot of different items or new products first. I have been to many Sephoras and I am VIB Rouge. I usually spend at least an hour or longer when I go, either trying new things or comparing them. Don't judge me. For all those complaints about this specific Sephora it's just not fair to them. For those who don't know, Sephora allows you to try out their products and return if u don't like it. You can test out what works for you, what you like, and even use up to half of the product before it no longer becomes eligible for return. As for the beauty specialist they should be testing and learning about the products themselves to be of better assistance to the consumer. Most of them do. Then again they don't always know best in my opinion but they're there for people you are looking for options. They aren't professionals or beauty gurus that live eat breathe make up so don't expect them to know everything. Me personally I prefer to go around Sephora and try everything out myself and test things on myself. If I'm looking for a product that I cannot find myself then I will ask for assistance and I haven't had any problems with their service. I have had an issue with receiving a product that was already opened. It was a Marc Jacobs foundation that was out of stock on the shelf so I asked them to check the bottom drawer and did not think to open it to check if it was used. Sometimes they put testers back in the drawer which understandable. It was messy and leaking so I brought it back. To me it's a simple mistake not something to blow out of proportion and call this Sephora filthy. That to me is just rediculous. It's one of the only stores u can litterally walk into and play with all the makeup. Honey, things will get messy. Suck it up. Last note I will mention is the skincare section. I love my skincare so I find it vital to my daily routine. If I'm looking for an item to help with acne and the person giving me advice is suffering worse from it than I am I'm not going to take your advice. You obviously don't know what your doing. That to me is kinda stupid to hire someone for the skincare section that does not take care of themselves. Other than that they're pretty good about giving me samples. Sometimes generous sometimes not. Just ask and you shall receive. Overall I recommend this place, but maybe not on weekends because it's super busy and you can get easily frustrated if you don't know what you're...
Read moreVisited this location twice yeserday. The first visit, I came alone to process a return. The staff was welcoming and greeted me and wished me well as I left. It was a short, but pleasant experience.
The second time I returned with my little brother, the energy was very off-putting. We were not greeted, and as I made my way to the skincare section, I noticed an employee follow me and then stand patrol where I was viewing products. When I turned my attention towards her, she then asked me if I needed help (Even though she had already been standing there watching me). I declined help and grabbed what I needed and proceeded to the perfume section. As we entered that area, an employee by the name of Francesca looked up from her conversation with another employee - not smiling, or welcoming whatsoever - and asked if we needed help. Based on the look on her face I declined her “help”. I proceeded to spend the next 25 mins testing out fragrances with my brother. Once we decided on the colognes, we made our purchase and left. As we left, there was a short blonde girl standing at the door making eye contact with me with a straight face. As we walked out the store, I said "have a nice day" and she just looked at me and nodded. not saying a single word.
Again, I visited this location just hours apart and had two VERY different experiences. The noticeable difference during my visit were that the black employees were much nicer and warmer. The white girls gave racist vibes.
As a customer, it’s disheartening to feel like I am not being given the best customer experience because the color of my skin. THREE different employees made me feel unwelcomed in ONE visit. Sephora needs to do better at training its employees on discrimination and racism. Starting with Francesca. It’s too bad that I didn’t get the other two employees names, because they’re just as much a part of the problem. Needless to say, I will not be shopping here again.
BUYER BEWARE: If you’re a POC reading this, don't visit this location unless you like being blatantly FOLLOWED and WATCHED like you’re doing something wrong. The employees here do not pass the vibe check....
