Fives all around. Stepped into a unique and amazing atmosphere. Dark wood and stained glass, huge open space but separate bar and dining area. The decor made me forget we were in Brooklyn, but the local support rang through. While we were there, I watched two locals waiting for take out. Both of them gave a wave to the bartender/manager on their way out and one employee said "see you tomorrow". Real neighborhood vibes. Two other patrons struck up some cheeky conversations with me. Very welcoming. Never got an "outsider" feel. Our server Lauren was awesome! Very pleasant and checked in with us at just the right times. She didn't flinch when I asked for a glass of milk. And when I inquired, she gave me some very detailed descriptions about upcoming special events and fun things at The Monk. Her genuineness could not be overlooked. She's been there for some time. She knew the story about dishes we asked about without hesitation. And she gave cheery banter to a local waiting for food. Again, good vibes! Cheers Lauren! I had the steak sandwich, which was freshly cooked then sliced to order. Not pre-cooked and reheated slices. My father got the potatoe balls which were amazing. Dont sleep on these guys! Both recommended. Unsweetened iced tea was FRESH, bright tasting. Like real brewed. Unlike other places. Cocktail and FULL Whisky menu. By the glass. And as someone who adores Jameson, I plan on spending a night in the near future going through some of the ones offered. Some I've never seen before. I'll also have to compare them to the wide array of other whiskeys on the menu. You know, to be fair :) I joked that if I lived locally I'd be there every night. Parking is Brooklyn street parking. There are two pay lots about 4/5 blocks away. But I noticed the street spots open more frequently than you'd think. It's all stores and small businesses on the block. All around great experience. I'm trying the wings next visit. Until next time Wicked Monk! Sainte! -Doc

Im lactose intolerant so I ordered medium rear burger WITHOUT cheese. They gave me medium rear burger WITH cheese. I kindly apologized for trouble but asked them that this order was wrong. They took it back. Then, chef came out and put the plate in front of me very loudly and with rude attitude. When I took my first bite I noticed that it was literally raw, raw ground beef which was completely unsafe to consume. I, again, apologized and showed them how meat looked like. They took it back without any complains. It was chef again who brought me a new burger and it looked like this (please see attached), he was much angrier this time and literally smashed the plate in front of me. Im extremely disappointed and upset because of this inhumane and hostile treatment. I was not able to eat the burger obviously out of this horrible experience and I also had to pay the full bill…

I have been popping into the Wicked Monk for years, food, pints, and vibes are always fab! But recently we hosted our post-elopement/wedding party here and I cannot recommend them enough as an event venue! Megan made the entire process so stress-free. They were on top of everything from working with the band we hired, to aligning on decor, making sure people could flow between rooms easily and get to the buffet. She made it easy for me and my husband to just show up and enjoy the night! The food was delicious, people are still commenting on it days later. Overall everyone had a great time and it's because of how easy the crew at Wicked Monk made everything. I would absolutely throw another party here but until then we'll just keep coming back for the general amazing vibes! Huge thank you to Wicked Monk though, made a memorable night even more perfect!

My family and I recently hosted a memorial luncheon for our mom at The Wicked Monk and it exceeded every expectation. From the incredible food to the truly exceptional customer service, this team delivered.

I first met with Megan to discuss the details and immediately I felt supported and understood. She was sweet, helpful, and truly concerned with making sure we were all good — even though she wouldn’t be there on the day of the luncheon. She stayed in touch leading up to the event, checked in to ensure every question was answered, and made sure we were in great hands with Clara and Chris.

Clara followed up with us right before the luncheon to make sure every detail was set. She truly knew the assignment — making sure all of our photos were displayed on the screens because she understood how important it was for us. Her attention and calm professionalism brought reassurance so we could focus on our guests.

Chris — our bartender, go-to guy, and (as I later learned) the owner of this wonderful place — was the very definition of hospitality. From our very first phone call to the last moments of the luncheon, his “whatever you need” attitude was unwavering. He anticipated every need and ensured everything ran flawlessly, all while being friendly, engaging, and perfectly attuned to the tone of the day.

And let’s not forget the food — absolutely fantastic! We’re a very picky Italian-Irish family, and the buffet was wonderful. Everyone kept talking about how much they enjoyed it, and we all agreed that my mom would have loved the meal and the warmth of the place.

What could have been a difficult day was made warm, welcoming, and full of heart because of this incredible team. If you’re looking for a venue that delivers both amazing food and truly above and beyond service, The Wicked Monk is it.

It’s also a wonderful spot for birthdays, showers, retirements, or any special...

We recently had the pleasure of dining at your establishment and were thoroughly impressed by the delightful ambiance and the array of enticing drinks that set the tone for a fun-filled evening. The food was delectable, and the atmosphere made our visit truly enjoyable.

However, we encountered an issue with one of our orders—a medium-cooked burger that arrived rare. As a professional chef accustomed to preparing rare burgers, I found this to be undercooked. When we brought this to our server’s attention, the response was less accommodating than expected, offering only half a burger as compensation. This aspect of our experience was disappointing.

We hold your restaurant in high regard and consider ourselves friends of the establishment. Our intention in sharing this feedback is to ensure that future visits are as impeccable as possible. We look forward to returning and hope that our next experience will reflect the high standards we have come to associate with...
