This is my new favourite food market. Oh my goodness! The choice is amazing, especially in such a small space. They stock my favourite French yoghurt, so I was sold straight away! Lovely fresh produce, replenished constantly, and when we were there, they were restocking - throwing out any that were bruised or bashed, not putting them on the shelf. The cheese section is great, lots of European Cheeses alongside others. Fresh fish counter, fresh meats, cured meats, high quality canned goods, a vast display of coffee, lovely organic and gluten free pastas. Basically, as we walked along every aisle, I was Wowing, and my son was laughing at me! At least he said we were on the same page with the yoghurt!! They also have coffee machines, a small take out area, and a fresh sushi counter.

If it weren’t the only game in the neighborhood for harder-to-find stuff, I’d never come here. With the exception of the cheesemonger, this is a group of people with the worst prices, the worst attitudes towards customer service, & the least interest in performing the basic functions of their jobs. Go to the green grocers across the street, Fish Tales, up the way, or GF, if you can possibly avoid this mess. Take, for example, this piece of fish I paid eighteen bucks for. This fish guy hacked it to pieces, chucked it into a bag, & never gave it a second thought. GO ELSEWHERE

look this isn't really a review of union market, this is a review of their "olive bread" that i had to tear apart to find 1 and 1/2 olives in total. in general i love union market its a bougie grocery store at bougie prices with mediocre cheese, wonderful produce and mushrooms, great meat and seafood. BUT COME ON! calling THIS olive bread? the bread was awful, there were no olives...but giving up on eating it and then tearing though it like a raccoon to find an olive that was fun. i mean i found one and a half, like a sad easter egg hunt.

I really love Union Market and it's been my go to for weekly food shopping since they opened this location on Court Street.

It's not for everyone, as it only has a limited selection for each type of product but that's exactly why I prefer it, they have exactly what I want without the distractions, it's perfectly curated to feature the best tasting products in each category (in my opinion anyways) which makes shopping there a breeze, things are well laid out and easy to get to without having to browse through endless ailes with 50 varieties of cereal or paper towels. That means I get everything on my weekly list, from staples to gourmet specialities in under 20mins which is virtually impossible in larger supermarkets.

In addition to the great selection, the staff is courteous and friendly, the location is always clean and well organized and as a bonus they play good music !

On the downside, it can get a little tight when it's busy and as mentioned you won't find certain products that are common in other supermarkets like big name cleaning supplies or cereal but if you're ok with that I thinks it's well worth the trade off.

Prices are also a higher than your average supermarket but not unreasonable for New York city and still well under Whole Foods prices.

Keep up the good work...

We live in the hood. We find the staff of our Union Market (Court Street) very pleasant and helpful. This Union Market has a good selection of cheeses and other products. Their stuff in our judgement is good.

Yes, pricey indeed but again good selection of quality high end products. We find it worth it for stuff not available other where in the vicinity and/or after hours as shop opens early and closes late.

Our only beef -- their baguettes are kept, for sanitary reasons, in paper sleeves which make them chewy by end of the day!

The baguettes shuld be kept behind the counter (away from people) and place in a paper sleeve only at time of purchase. This will guarantee...
