St. Joseph's Church — Attraction in Newport

I got married at St. Joseph's and I cannot recommend them enough.

My fiance and I live out of state and received our sacraments in different states as well which made a lot of things very complicated. None of this was the fault of the parish ,however, Lynn worked with us from start to finish to ensure we got everything together on our special day. They also did a FANTASTIC job during our rehearsal. We had a large wedding party, some of whom are not catholic and had to learn everything as a beginner. I know we weren't the easiest of newlyweds because of all of this so I hope Lynn knows how grateful we are for her and her hard work.

And of course on our wedding day, the church is STUNNING. Incredibly picturesque and our photographer even said it is his favorite church to photograph in Newport.

And of course, the mass itself. St Joseph values traditional catholic wedding masses and does not cut it short. We hired our own priest but made sure to follow the traditional rules of the Diocese.

The church is gorgeous for a wedding but Virginia is the rudest wedding coordinator I've ever met. She stressed me out so much at my wedding rehersal, barking at my wedding party and deacon after she showed up a half hour late. She was barely any help all year long so I did a lot of planning myself. I could tell she was going to be rude in person by the tone of her emails. She is useless and don't give her any credit for how beautiful the ceremony...

I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day here and my heart gave way to a loud proclamation of a Gospel hymn, which fills this holy Mass from start to finish!! My soul truly felt the presence of the Lord, the God of Israel, as the organ dug deep into my mind's eye and pulled out all of my needs, wants, and desires to add the flavor of our Mighty God to the taste...
