I don’t usually get overly excited about grocery shopping, but I have to give ALDI credit for making my last trip a really great experience. I went in with the goal of picking up everything I needed to make my favorite dish homemade mac and cheese and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy and stress free the whole process was.
One thing I’ve always appreciated about ALDI is the way they keep things simple, but during this trip, I noticed how much the staff played a role in making the experience better. The employees were incredibly helpful. At one point I had trouble finding a specific type of cheese I needed, and without hesitation one of the workers walked me right to the section and even pointed out a couple of other options I might like. That kind of customer service really stood out, especially at a store where things are usually fast paced and self serve.
As for the products themselves, I was able to get every single ingredient I needed without having to make another stop anywhere else. The cheese selection was surprisingly good for a budget friendly grocery chain, and the pasta and dairy products were fresh and well stocked. Even little extras like butter and seasoning were easy to grab, and the prices were definitely lower than what I would have paid at bigger name grocery stores.
What I loved most was walking out with everything I needed to make my most loved mac and cheese recipe, knowing I saved money and had a genuinely good shopping experience. It might sound simple, but being able to get quality ingredients and have friendly, helpful employees around makes all the difference.
Overall, ALDI continues to impress me, and this trip reminded me why it’s one of my favorite...
Read moreThe black girl that works here with the long braids needs to reevaluate her career choice AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS. My husband and I were checking out on self-checkout. (This employee didnt say "Hi" or "Welcome to Aldi.") She approached us with a nasty attitude and stated, "DID YOU GUYS SCAN THE PAPER BAGS??!?!" My husband and I were in utter disbelief that she approached us in this manner. The paper bags were the first thing we scanned before scanning our food items.......NEWSFLASHHHHHHHH!!!! If my husband and I wanted to steal anything from Aldi, it would've been FOOD, not cheap paper bags with Elmer's-glued-on-handles. It seems like this employee hates her part-time minimum wage job and took her frustration out on my husband and I. Aldi needs to do a more thorough interview process when hiring for their company...I also want to add that she did not approach any other customer this way, only us. The store was completely disorganized and dirty. She should be more worried about the presentation of the store than some .10 bags. Oh, and the toilets in the bathroom were completely dirty with no soap, nor toilet paper. She might want to check...
Read moreWe shop at this location every two weeks and spend more than $200. This last Sunday afternoon We had a bad experience with the two cashiers that were in service that night. We didn’t have a quarter for the shopping cart and went inside and asked to break a dollar at which point the cashier started giving me a lecture about the shortage of coins in the United States. I guess she must’ve missed her calling as a financial advisor or something, and must have ended up a cashier at Aldi. So we went next-door at the marketplace, spent $200 there and when I came back to get some necessities using the shopping cart from next-door the lady was upset that we were using someone else’s cart and wouldn’t start scanning my items until I had put everything on the belt. Now generally my experience has been OK in the store, this last Sunday however it was very disappointing. The younger associates are a lot more pleasant than these two older women with a bad attitude that were closing on Sunday night. One was an African-American and the other one was Latina looking. Please coach them to provide better customer service or get to another...
