Northville Nail Boutique — Attraction in Northville

This is the first review I have ever written, but I felt the need to share my experience here for others to see. My nail tech was Molly, she was rude, judgemental of where I was from, and did a sub-par job on my manicure.

I'm from Redford, a poorer part of Michigan, and when I expressed that, she asked what I was doing here in Northville in a very snobbish tone - strike one for me. She then proceeded to tell me to wait 5 minutes for my nails to dry before she put a top coat on them. I obliged, however, she then sat on her phone for 20 minutes as I sat there, alone at the desk.

Jumping ahead to after my nails were finished, she again left me alone at the desk for another 10 minutes, and I had to call over another tech to help me cash out - mind you, my nails were dry, so she wasn't waiting for them to dry.

I overheard the other tech calling Molly to tell her I needed to be cashed out, and instead of coming to me personally, I overheard her telling the boutique assistant to take care of it, and to clarify, she wasn't busy, she was sitting in one of the pedicure chairs on her phone again, apparently too lazy to come cash out her customer.

Terrible experience and I will not be recommending this place to anyone, in fact, I will be telling them to stay away, as my whole experience was awful, and this is only my side of the story, I had a friend with me that had an even worse...

Ok, I’ll start with the good. I went to this nail shop on a whim as I needed my nails done and my normal place was closed. The staff was really friendly. They were very accommodating as I came pretty late. The decoration in the shop is very cute. The shop itself appeared clean and tidy. Now onto the not so good. I came in to get a manicure and polish change on my toes. They are overpriced, especially as I’ve gotten way better quality for less. I’ve never, ever had a professional remove shellac/gel nail polish off of my nails with their bare hands. After she somewhat soaked off the polish with acetone she removed it with her own nails. No, not a tool, she literally scraped off the polish with her fingernails 😬. The sides of my fingernails got missed as well. The manicure tub is this little plastic tub with a teeny bit of soap, I still have hangnails after getting the manicure and that’s never happened before. I have been coming to this nail salon for over a year and they are THE BEST! I left my debit card last night at the boutique and they securely held it for me until I‘m able to pick it up. Integrity is important, and they have the UTMOST integrity. The employees are amazing, and so personable along with the owner of the nail boutique, Uit. I’ve never had a bad experience, or bad nail job done. My usual technician is, Dany. She is super sweet and always does an impeccable job. I have also seen Pat, she is another amazing nail technician whom also does an impeccable job (and was the one who noticed I forgot my debit card and securely held it for me). My favorite boutique, and favorite people to see every two weeks!! They are also super CLEAN! I’ve seen them clean in front of me to know that they clean every night before locking up - and they definitely clean their tools properly (some places do not).
