Not the greatest experience. It was a little hard navigating because I've never been there before but there was a lady there guiding people and directing. I think she was with Amtrak but I'm not sure but there should actually be more people in the station or better sign is to direct you to the various trains. Since there is amtrak, coaster, sprinter, and metrolink, directions should be a little more clear so you don't have to seek out help if you're a first-timer. Also the station building area is just overwhelmed with homeless people and very CD looking characters. Some of my people went into the ladies room and there were several individuals male and female in one of the stalls doing who knows what. It's a very scary environment. When people get off of a train very often the first thing they need to do is go to the restroom. Especially if you're an older person. It should be a safer and cleaner environment. This is a great station and a great location but so far as upkeep maintenance and security they could do a lot better. I came through the station with a tour group of 20 people and I told them to steer clear of the restrooms. Wait until they get on the train because the train restrooms how much cleaner and safer. But they have some...
Read moreWorst decision I ever made it to try to ride with Amtrak Oceanside not only did they never sent me the email with my ticket attached but they sent me three emails prior to that I wasn’t able to get on my train and I missed it and when trying to get in contact with someone to figure out where my train tickets were and how I can get them sent to me the customer service was horrible not only did no one answer the phone but when texting someone on their automatic text they try to tell me that it was my fault that the tickets were never sent but the email address wasn’t correct when it was after spending $80 on tickets I can only get back $28 in a refund plus a $9.80 cancellation charge and yet they still try to make it out to be my fault saying they did nothing wrong and that they sent the email out that I must’ve got it wrong which I know isn’t true because after I was done texting the customer service person I was finally sent the ticket information on email at 7:29 keep in mind my train was supposed to leave at 6:45, Amtrak better count their days because what a scam I much rather pay for a taxi then take this station after the experience I just...
Read moreWent to pick up my parents & took the surfliner from Anaheim to go to oceanside. They had seats for the disabled. Going back home leaving from oceanside to Anaheim, we asked the conductor if there are seats for the disabled, he said no. What?!? Right next to his foot, there was a handicap sign/sticker. So that doesn’t make sense. On top of that, the young conductor on the PA system was a jerk & disrespectful. He doesn’t realize there are handful of people who never been on the Amtrak. Obviously, you’re going to have confused people who don’t know where to go. Especially, when they’re 80+ years old. IMO this particular young conductor needs another lesson on customer service/satisfaction. He also talked down to his co-worker when his co-worker was being polite to the customers. He said he wasn’t helping out moving the people. The time the train left oceanside was supposed to be at 1:00 pm but it was delayed 10 minutes. Sad that the common courtesy & the professionalism of the company has gone out...
