this is my updated response to previous review. I feel the response from the owner was very admirable as an owner.
he handled his response very promptly, and I have a greater understanding of the situation. I wish the best for the employee and the place. my heart does go out to people that struggle with anxiety or potentially that have any struggles with social interactions. I hope the employees know that we all have our challenges in life and I hope he knows he can overcome those social challenges. I feel its admirable that the owner cares for the wellbeing of his employees and the customers. I accept the employees apology and the owners. the first review i gave below in quotations. I keeping it up to encourage others we can all rise above misunderstandings and have compassion of each challenges or struggles. we all doing the best we can. I hope all who reads have a blessed day and stay encouraged :-)
“okay the person that worked there was unnecessarily rude for no reason. i work around here and i was in to check what the store was about because it looked like they sold board games in there as well. As soon I walked in the employee was very rude ans said we are not opened but did it a tone as if I was trespassing. i left and was walking over to the other place that was close by and he ran out to another place close by and locked that up as well… he went about it so rude. lock the door if you dont want people to enter but also dont treat people so bad because you made an error your self. he treated me so poorly. it was very odd. I have never had a place treat me like that. he was acting like window shoppers are criminals or something.it was very demeaning…
OK, so get this he called the cops on me for no reason . The officer was really nice by the way, but I feel with this type of thing.. is so unnecessary. he lied to the officer and told him i broke in. which I’m pretty sure the security cameras will show otherwise. You have the door unlocked and then you went to go walk the other door that you owned which is the ax plays and I had no idea that he owned all those other places. But to waste the officers time when they could be actually taken care of real stuff going on here in Utah is extremely petty just because you yourself decided to not lock the door.
sue for that because there’s security cameras that would show exactly what happened so if you’re gonna do that for no freaking reason and try to call the cops on me, even though there was no argument or anything like that , I’m gonna sue...
Read moreThe set design is amazing, but the game play is just okay. I feel like they use escape room "cheats" that are usually used to take up time when the puzzles aren't complex enough for a 1 hour escape room (like making the room too dark to effectively complete tasks, or using generic puzzles that don't add to the experience). In this case, I felt like they were still used to slow you down, but with the intention of you failing. We also felt like the actor would purposely mislead us/ slow us down if they felt like we were moving along too fast. Maybe they were just trying to be cryptic and ended up being confusing and pulling us off- track, but it was annoying. We gave it anther shot and have now done both Neverland and Exalibur, but had a similar experience both times. We were told on both occassions that is common to have to come more than once to complete the room and to reschedule and try again- almost as if they want you to fail so they can get twice as much money from you to complete the same room. Uhhh... no thanks. We have done over 100 escape rooms, with plenty of failures mixed in there, but none nearly so frustrating as Red Giant. I don't mind failing if I am still entertained enough to warrant the price paid, but that is not the case here. If you haven't done a lot of escape rooms, these games will probably seem pretty good... but if you have, this place will likely just be an experience in...
Read moreI love and do a lot of escape rooms. Occasionally, I build them myself. One thing I struggle with when participating in some escape rooms is the lack of connection and flow involved in the experience. I want to solve puzzles and i want to be entertained, but i don't want to just be puzzle bombed. I have done two rooms at this location. Here's my review of both.
Xenomorph- really fun room! Very immersive, great scenery and it included actors. The actors were great and we enjoyed the puzzles. We did make it out. I felt like this was really well done. Enjoyed the changes in rooms and changes in elevation. I felt like I really was on a ship threatened by aliens.
Ministry of magic- we didn't love this one as much. We really liked the actor and the scenery. We felt like this one lacked flow in regards to their puzzles. We love puzzles but felt like we just got puzzle bombed (there were a lot of puzzles). We felt like the amount of puzzles took away from the entertainment factor.
All of that being said, I applaud and appreciate red giant for putting these together. I know how hard it is to create a good challenging experience that is challenging and entertaining. Thank you for your hard work.
We plan on attending again and hope our next experience will be more...
