Last minute trip with my 12 year old as our premiere passes expire in a week so —one last trip. It was a wonderful hotel to pick for our last stay as everything from the aromas, to the huge windows, to the sparkling clean pools and rooms and then to my favorite, which was the warm and helpful staff that went above and beyond at every turn. I got sick (rarely do) several days before this trip and while I rarely use meds I called the dr immediately and got the antibiotics and other stuff. (not covid) I was still feeling it when we left for the trip. it obviously put a damper on our trip as we had ride goals and they were hard to meet… I ordered soup and other supporting evidence of being sick and it’s like the staff listened. Due to the illness we stayed at the hotel until the express passes were good and packed it in - even got to Hagrid’s… anyway, the staff just listened and really supported my kiddo and I. I spoke with Patty at the amazing buffet (so much fresh fruit and you can get french toast or waffles ordered fresh- amazing! oh, and also some voodoo donuts were there) and she is wonderful… the kind of wonderful that everytime we come back I will be here to say hi to Patty. She is such an asset to this hotel…Friendly, thoughtful, efficient, warm, and friendly while also being professional…. such an asset. after having a really busy night, the night before our last,we decided to stay in and watch movies all day as I had a 10 hour drive the next day to the smoky mountains :). My kiddo and I ordered room service and I got more chicken noodle soup and stuff for the kiddo and while on the phone I had a wonderful conversation with a woman named Lori (lauri?) and she was like Pattys twin and I enjoyed speaking with her a great deal and getting tips and just, again, such an asset!!! I started to tell her about how wonderful Patty was and I asked if she knew her…. yep, Lori trained Patty…. LOVE It! These two ladies and all our other wonderful experiences will have us coming back here anytime we are in Orlando…. Thank you so very much…. I forgot to say how AMAZING IT WAS to get a message that we had an amenity and when would we liked it delivered? I thought my thoughtful husband at home sent something as he is pretty thoughtful… but it was even better as guest services sent a movie basket and it had a bunch of candy and a movie and honestly just pure happiness as my kiddo and I had just about finished our first movie (13 going on 30) and her eyes just opened about as wide as they could at the beautiful bin of sugar… Thank you thank you thank you for becoming one of our very favorite hotels! she marveled to her friends about how she got to have it all (minus one 3 musketeer) and honestly it took the sting away that we hadn’t made it to velocicoaster yet…. saving me from some mom guilt lol THANK YOU!!!! (I wanted to give a shoutout to the ladies in the store that helped me with a sensitive issue and really gave me some great tips!! I can’t remeber their names but I got you a shake as i had no cash to tip:) —- thank you! we ended up rescheduling discovery cove for october- see u then :)

First time visiting after having tried Dockside many times and Cabana Bay once. Cabana Bay felt as a somewhat sidegrade vs dockside but sapphire falls is a clear upgrade vs them in my opinion. Very beautiful hotel. Great lobby theming, exceptional landscaping, nice waterfall. Quiet, clean and well furnished rooms. Comfy beds, plenty of plugs, etc. The bathroom door design is a bit questionable. Mine had extra clearance between the door and wall that it was easy to see thru. Minor gripe tho. The pool is hands down the best. Ok you don't have the lazy river of cabana bay but you have much more room, the slide is cool and the overall vibe is much more relaxed! A big bonus that I didn't saw mentioned in other reviews is that you can have food/drinks delivered straight to your lounger by the pool and there are servers roaming around to check on you / get orders. Very nice service, albeit a bit pricy but it's great that it is offered. Upgraded room service too, but pricy too. The water taxi is great. I was used to the busses for dockside and was satisfied with that but the water taxi is a cool extra that I didn't initially thought would make a difference, but positively did! - The prices for food seems generally on the high side. I guess that is to be expected as a higher tier hotel but still, wished there was better grab n go / marketplace / non full service type of food venue. As a Dockside regular, the jump in price for the hotel was ok but everything else seems costlier too which makes it a tough sell for me. At more than 30$ for a very very simple breakfast at Amatista (the hotel's restaurant) is a huge deal for me. I am forced to find other solutions like going to the grocery store and bring my own food, walk to the other resorts, etc. It does affect the experience overall, so to me this lowers the value of this resort significantly. In my opinion, they have something great with this resort and its a great step up from the lower tiers. They however need to fix the daily cost of living there (outside of the room prices). The rest is great!

We usually love staying at this hotel mainly due to the water taxi and the resort being very beautiful. This time, however, the stay was very disappointing as far as the room. When we arrived, the carpet had crumbs on it, one of the bed sheets and the extra blankets in the closet were stained, there were open drinks left in the fridge, the soap dispenser had unidentified crumbs in it, there were fingerprint stains on the bathroom door, and a number of the towels were stained. Someone came to vacuum and clean the crumbs and drinks after we messaged before heading out for the day but the floor still wasn't the cleanest. Also, some of the new towels had stains on them and one of the hand towels had a huge hole in the center. We also realized the mini fridge wasn't working so we messaged for someone to come check. They said someone would be sent immediately however after about an hour no one had shown up. I sent an additional message to confirm they were coming and they apologized and said that they would now send someone. Someone did arrive pretty quickly afterward and replaced the fridge. Overall the hotel itself is very beautiful and every worker we encountered was extremely nice but I don't think we'll be back for quite a while. I actually found myself slightly disappointed when coming back from the park the first evening when I remembered that we were coming back to the room at Sapphire that evening instead of the room we had stayed in at Dockside the night before. Aside from being MUCH cheaper, we didn't have any issues with things in the room not working or cleanliness at Dockside. As convenient as being in a hotel with water taxi access, we'll definitely be trying a different hotel for our future stays at Universal.
