I've had the misfortune of staying at this hotel, and it was hands down the worst experience I've ever had. The price? A whopping $300 for a night's stay. What did I get in return? A plethora of problems.

Parking was a nightmare, with overflow lots that were first-come, first-served. The Indian restaurant inside the hotel permeated the entire place with its pungent aroma, which was especially noticeable from our balcony.

But that was just the beginning. The rooftop music blasted until after 1 am, and the elevators and rooftop areas were filled with loud, rowdy people.

And then, the cherry on top: NO HOT WATER in our room (523 on the 5th floor). We were told to run the sink and shower for 10 minutes to get it to work! Unbelievable. The staff, including Andre, seemed to laugh off our concerns, and there was no manager on duty until Monday.

After 35 minutes of running the water, it finally got warm enough to bear. But by that point, the damage was done. This place is an absolute joke.

It's clear that the Cambria Hotel prioritizes partygoers who want to drink and be loud over providing a comfortable, peaceful stay for their guests. If that's your scene, then I suppose this hotel might be for you. But for anyone looking for a decent night's sleep and basic amenities, look elsewhere.

We will not take this lightly and will be disputing this charge with our credit card company. Next time, we'll be taking our business (and our sleep) elsewhere.

Formal Complaint and Dispute

Dear Manager,

I am writing to address the numerous issues we experienced during our stay at your hotel. Firstly, I want to clarify that we did not smoke any cigarettes in the hotel or on the balcony, as you may have been led to believe. In fact, we have video evidence of ashes coming from the rooftop, which suggests that others may have been responsible.

Our stay was marred by several problems, including no hot water all night, despite reporting the issue to the front desk. We were told that someone would look into it in the morning, which was completely unacceptable. Additionally, the parking situation was chaotic, and the rooftop area was a party spot with music playing past 1 am, disrupting our peace.

We have video evidence of the noise and disruptions, and we will not hesitate to share our experience with the public. I don't need to lie or exaggerate to convey how poorly managed this hotel is. The reviews from other guests speak for themselves.

We will be contacting our bank on Monday to dispute the charges for our stay. I hope that in the future, your hotel will take steps to address these issues and provide a better experience for...

I reached out to the staff prior to the check out time of my first of two nights, and let them know I had something come up and politely requested a refund of my second night. I was told “we don’t handle refunds as my booking was through a third party (Expedia), and you need to request a refund from Expedia” I then spoke to Expedia who informed me that after thirty minutes of me being on hold they were informed by the hotel that their request for refund was denied. So basically, the hotel management staff already knew they would not refund me, but then made me go on a rabbit chase of my own to get Expedia to provide me a refund since they do not handle refunds for third-party bookings implying that I still could so long as Expedia refunded me when in reality management does control the refund as they denied the request for one anyways when Expedia called them. This place has a “Indian night club” downstairs attracting a lot of bystander and loitering in the dark lit parking lot. People are shouting, drinking, smoking weed etc… right outside the front entrance all night long. The room had a dirty and torn open duvet on the bed. I requested an iron at check-in, and was told it would be delivered and then never was. This place is right off the street where you can hear loud cars and traffic all night outside your window. The restaurant on the rooftop, surrounds an empty pool that would be somewhat awkward to use as people dine around you, as well as an extremely overpriced menu. The shower door did not fully close, allowing water out onto the floor. This place is lipstick on a pig, and is a high-rise motel for two to three times the cost of a regular motel. Do not waste your money, if you want to stay in a motel for $50 per night and do not mind excessive noise and dirty torn up bedding and feeling mildly safe, stay at a motel and save your money.

You stood idle when I replied “why did you tell me to reach out to Expedia and waste my day when you knew full well you weren’t going to approve the refund” You messaged me “we do not handle refunds for bookings made through third-party companies, you will have to reach out to the third party for your refund request”

I didn’t blackmail you, I literally told you what I would do AFTER I departed the hotel with no refund. Blackmail, would be me telling you I would post negative reviews IF you did not compensate or refund me. Let’s review the definition of blackmail below. Me and a coworker stayed for two nights in two separate rooms and both throughly detested our stays. First of all, the front desk is entirely understaffed and undertrained. It took over 20 minutes for us to check in. In fact, each time we needed to talk to the front desk we waited in line for over 15 minutes even with just one person in front of us. We talked with the other guests while in line and all of them were appalled by the wait.

The more important factor is that the hot water was out in both of our rooms. I called down to the front desk to get it fixed, went down and verified they had my request before we left for the day, returned 8 hours later and stopped at the front desk on the way up to make sure someone went up to fix it. Was told yes of course. Went to our rooms and lo and behold no hot water. Not even luke warm water. I called down for both of us again, and maintence did come up to fix it. Which worked! That was at 5pm. Unfortunately when we came back from dinner around 9pm, the water was cold again.

I’m not a complainer, but to arrive from your flight and not be able to shower then go to a conference and not be able to is terrible. It makes you feel gross and to have to check in multiple times (4) to get service is crazy. The worst part is the hotels complete lack of remorse. I requested a discount, not even a full refund, since we did not have the ability to shower for 90% of our stay. The receptionist immediately said nope. No apologies at all. In fact, she said we did have hot water! Which was news to us considering we did not. Two separate rooms on two different floors did not have hot water. She repeated we did in fact have hot water and that they serviced our rooms after our first call, they did not. Which is the reason for the other 3 touch points.

I requested to speak to the manager, as I know how stingy and terrible some of these franchises are and it wasn’t her call at the end of the day. And he was there, but would not come out and talk to us. Apparently he was just soooo busy he couldn’t step out to talk to two very upset guests. I even said I would wait, and she told me he would be back there for a while. All I got was a business card with an email, to which I sent all of this and have not received a response.

Now I’m recounting all of this in excessive detail because the manager is obviously not going to respond to my email so might as well have someone else read it. The lack of customer service is terrible. They did not provide the basics of stay. Sure you’ll save some money staying here, but I promise you it’s worth the extra bit of cash to stay at a decent hotel. Just avoid this place.
