During a recent shopping trip at Garden State Plaza, after stopping by the Apple store, we came across Mango Biche Mia, a colorful snack spot dedicated to mango lovers. My girlfriend, a big fan of mangoes, immediately wanted to give it a try, and we decided to share a bowl.
The setup was appealing, with plenty of mango chunks and the option to customize the bowl with various toppings and seasonings. This gave the snack a semi healthy appeal, as long as you didn’t overdo it with the add ons. We appreciated the flexibility of creating something unique to your taste.
As for the mango itself, the quality was a bit hit or miss. It seemed like they used two different mangoes, one of which was ripe, offering a sweet flavor, while the other was slightly unripe, making it more sour. The contrast of flavors wasn't terrible, but it would have been much better if all the mangoes were perfectly ripe. For a fruit snack that costs around $10, you'd expect consistency in the quality of the fruit.
Overall, Mango Biche Mia offers a neat idea, and I can see it being a fun and refreshing snack option, especially with the ability to personalize your toppings. However, the execution could be improved, especially if they ensured the mangoes were fully ripe. If I pass by again and see they have better looking mangoes, I might give it another try, but I wouldn’t go out of...
