I felt compelled to write this review as a wakeup call for the management of this place to perhaps up their professionalism. I recently had my pups stay there for a week. I have a Portuguese Water Dog and a 4 pound Chihuahua. Upon reaching my destination in South America I was informed by my daughter that she received a call from this place that they had lost my Chihuahua. I had to call several phone numbers in order to reach a person to get an understanding of what was going on. I was informed that my dog had snuck out of the dog run crawling below the fence. I further was told that the paper collar they replace the real collar had be torn off in the escape. Long story short, they put me through 4 hours of hell hopelessly waiting for some kind of word. I left my cell number again with them and was assured by the "manager" that he would personally call me with updates. I received one update and to this date, I am still waiting for the call to inform me of what happened. My daughter (emergency contact), called and was informed they had found him 2 neighborhoods away and was safe and sound. I had a family member pick them up on the last day of their stay and they came home with what we are not supposed to call Kennel Cough. I understand that this is common when boarding dogs. My problem is that simple communication would have been appropriate. Again, no communication. Currently we are in at $400 and counting for the vet visit and medication. The last insult to injury was the only call we received after their visit was to tell us the staff had forgotten to return our medication we sent with our pups. They told us they would place it in the lost and found box for us to pick up.
I thank God they were able to find my dog and hope this was a perfect storm of errors or just a real bad day. Either way for a kennel to lose a dog I imagine is not good...
Read moreUPDATE: The owner, Lorrie, was able to talk to her staff today and get back to us in a timely manner. She said that the staff said that they did feed our cat. So we concluded since our cat's food was all still in the tupperware when we picked her up that she may have just been fed another cat's food by accident. Lorrie did state that they have made protocol/procedure changes, so this should help to mitigate any future issues. Lorrie also did credit us for 2 days. We bumped up our rating to 3 stars because of Lorrie's timely response. In the end, we were okay with her response. We will still continue to take our dog there.
ORIGINAL: We picked up our dog and cat yesterday after 4.5 days at Come Sit Stay. Our dog was fine, but we found that our cat was not fed her food that we provided at all (she has a sensitive stomach) but with CSS's cat food. She also had cat crap all over her, so we had to give her a thorough cleaning when we got home (it wasn't recent cat crap either). Because she was fed with CSS's cat food, she has been puking and has had diarrhea so far. We are disappointed with CSS's performance to take care of our cat. This was just pure neglect and lack of communication between the workers there. We will definitely be calling tomorrow to speak with management and see how they choose to rectify this situation. We like this pet resort and would like to continue using them; but it is all dependent on how they decide to handle...
Read moreGreat for boarding - had no issues there.
My biggest issue is when it came to try and book for Day Camp following the board. The man was very nice - don't get me wrong I don't think this was his fault - I was annoyed that when I asked about availability for camp for my dog all they said was "We are Full" - nothing about the next available date that I could even, if I wanted to book for my dog. My dog had boarded here only a few weeks ago yet I was still told that if they had availability that I would have to bring my dog in for a separate evaluation. Their reasoning was "because its a different group of dogs", when I though the evaluations were to evaluate my dog - which they already had to do when she was boarded here a few weeks ago. I just felt like the explanation was not enough. On top of that they only do evaluations 2 days a week - Monday and Tuesday. It made it feel like way more of a hassle to use their service vs just driving home on my lunch break to let my dog out.
I did enjoy my experience with them for boarding - they were responsive and helpful through the process. My dog was happy when picked her up and she smelled clean - saw the boarding facility where the dogs stay and it is VERY clean. I was walked through those and saw the outside play areas which were decently sized. I just wish the other services were more clearly defined...
