Beautiful, historic, easily recognizable campus. Great for those returning to school after being away for years, and for those looking to learn something new or earn a new degree. That said, expect NO help at all except from a few of the instructors. The college does not seem to care about any of its students except those right out of high school.
Hard to find your way around campus so make sure you spend some time walking around and memorizing where stuff is.
They have a veterans center which is good. Some of the library staff are rude and unhelpful.
The kinesiology department seems very good to me so far.
Ive noticed that the campus seems to be struggling to find good instructors in many departments.
There is a little cafe on campus. They have a good selection of food and drinks to choose from.
There seems to be no help for students who are struggling in any way. That needs to change!!
More social opportunities for students would be helpful, with an emphasis on ALL students, including those of non-traditional college age, nationalities, abilities, and backgrounds.
More help finding employment is needed, too.
The health center should be avoided unless you really have to go there. They plaster your age and date of birth of every single form and paper, which feels like theyre opening the door to discrimination. Also the nurse or whoever she was was very rude to me and didnt spend much time with me at all.
Financial aid is helpful for some, but if youve used fafsa at other schools they might start questioning you. Watch out for that.
Transportation is pretty bad here! The bus that stops here (i think it's the 187) is horridly slow and has sketchy people on it. No security. The Gold Line light rail is over a mile away! Hard to walk there on hot days, and it's nearly always hot these days. No shade on the walk there, either. Also there is no security at the station and a lot of criminals use it. Still, it's a lot faster than the bus and it runs a lot more often. There used to be a train that ran right down Colorado Blvd - that would be SO nice and convenient to have here now! Sadly they got rid of it.
The city of Pasadena itself is not what it used to be. Lots of shootings, robberies, murders, drug use, and gang violence now. So watch out when leaving campus. Some of the bums wander on to campus. One started harassing me and there was no security around. When i finally found someone they werent helpful.
All in all i would recommend going here, but be sure and voice your concerns whenever and wherever possible - the school needs to make some improvements, but they wont unless students and community...

If your are an INTERNATIONAL ASIAN STUDENT FROM P.R.CHINA, DO NOT consider this school! They gave me one of my worst school night in the history.
I came to United states for school in Fall, 2008. Back in May 22nd, 2009, I was a student there. I stayed over that night to use the public WiFi so I could search some information online and talk with my parents. I didn't noticed the time and time passed by with my laptop very quikly. Yes it was late, so when one of the (maybe) supervisor or teacher from the school got off his office he told me to get out of the building, and his voice was really not nice. I packed up my things and he watched me to do so. He even FOLLOWED me when I tried to get out of the building. He's really tall and bulky, and he didn't have any name or anything on his uniform.
I was scared. so I tried to use the washroom and get out of the building after him. I didn't want be followed by anyone because it was dark outside. THAT MAN/TEACHER called the Campus Police outside the female washroom!
And something even worse happened, my English was terrible at that time and the officer clearly didn't understand my explanation and he ARRESTED me by the name of PCC.
This was my FIRST AND ONLY ARREST RECORD in my life. It caused many troubles afterward when I tried to renew my student visa, and when I tried to get my status changed to permanent resident. I needed to give all that arrest and court record to the Visa and USCIS officers.
Even though I transferred to a 4 years college after PCC, and even got married here, PCC is by far one of the worst nightmare I have ever had in the U.S.
If there is an option, I would like to give this...
Read moreI visited this school because I needed one class my college didn't have. I'm not trying to put down the school . It looks like a good school .As I look the school doesn't look welcoming. It looks like a ghost town school. I couldn't find where everything is at . There are too much trees in Pasadena and it looks scary. Tone it down a bit.The school looks like it's too closed up. It looks dead. It needs to be alive . It looks old and cold. The buildings look old. It doesn't look clean. The admissions only has one person that helps you fill out a form to apply or register to get in the school when the other college I'm going to has multiple student workers helping you with applying to the school. My school has a room full of new computers with tables and staff ready to help you. This college does not. You have to stand in line and only one person can help you. You have to wait. Same thing for financial aid. As you walk in the building you have no idea where the admissions and student services are . There was no sign. Their login system is old too. The floors look old, The fountain outside in the main entrance doesn't work anymore, The doors look soo old. They got to go. Those two side buildings need to be renewed or taken down. There is no design outside where people walk, hardly any plants or garden inside campus. I change my mind I'm not coming here. At the school I'm going to they renewed almost everything including buildings and have new technology. It looks like a good college but needs...
