Mobile Sound — Attraction in Paterson

Beware I don’t normally write reviews but this one I won’t let slide. The person in charge spoke with me on the phone and I asked to install tail lights he said $100 if you don’t take the bumper out or $250 if they have to take the bumper out. But I know they don’t have too because I saw many videos on the installation. Now I go over there and ask how long will it take and he said he’s doesn’t know but it’s $100 per hour for labor and I was wow ok that’s a little overpriced. He said it could take 1-2 hours but he said he said if it’s 1 hour and 15 minutes he’ll charge me a $100. So I started a timer that way I don’t get scammed. And I did it’s been an hour and 3 minutes and I go get my charge from the car and it’s already done but no one said anything. So I went up to him and pay and he said $175 plus tax. I told him hasn’t been 2 hours why are you charging basically for 2 and he said it’s been there since 11:40 and that’s not possible because I called my girlfriend that I just started because I have to pick her up from work. And I called them at 11:26 from home and my house to that location is a 25 minute drive how is that possible??? And then he bet on me to look at the cameras and if he’s right I pay $200 I was like what you’re betting now how could you run a business like that unbelievable. I should’ve told him to do it but it just isn’t right to gamble. I was so shocked. Then he ended charging me $135 plus tax so $148. So just be cautious or don’t go at all this is my second time here by the way I got a subwoofer job done here the first visit. But this was bad. Don’t recommend a mechanic was gonna do the tail lights and spoiler for me for $150 but I had an event today and he couldn’t do it today so that’s why I went here and I regret. From my first phone call to inquire about a new speaker installation til when I left, it was clear that the excellent ratings you see here are for a reason.

I recently installed a new Pioneer DEH X6500BT receiver in my Jeep, and the excitement of a fancy new Bluetooth head unit dissipated the second I turned it on and heard just how horrible my stock speakers were. So, new speakers were a must.

I called Mobile Sound and explained my situation and set the time to come in, pick out a good set and do the install. From the moment I walked in the door, they were with me the whole way. I'm new to car audio, I'm not illiterate but it's a whole world I'm just learning about. We talked about what I was looking for in audio output and we found the right speakers for my car that suited that. I was replacing just my front door speakers and dash tweeters, and after we'd just about settled on both, they showed me another full component set that included the door speakers and tweeters as one package, which ended up saving me money. They could have just sold them to me separately, but nope. I spent the time while installation was happening shootin' the breeze with them, and I gotta say it's really great to just have a nice down to earth conversation with people you're doing business with.

The end result? Couldn't be happier. On the drive home I was hearing layers in songs I hadn't heard before. The Bluetooth calling was crystal clear. They could have tried to up-sell me on a much more expensive speaker set, I obviously am very new to car audio and could easily be taken advantage of. But nope.

I wanted to upgrade my car audio system and as I always do, I read the customer reviews from several different sites. It was all the glowing reviews of Nick and his customer service that was the deciding vote for choosing Mobile Sound. I entered the store and was greeted by Nick, himself. I told him what I was hoping to achieve with an upgrade to my car's audio system. Nick asked me many questions to determine what would work for me. He described my options which came down to merely replacing the front and back speakers. I took his advice on the speaker brands. The wonderful installer expertly and quickly changed the front speakers and had me listen to them. If I was happy I could have stopped there if I liked the sound. I did! Then I asked him to go ahead and replace the back speakers. He did a great job! I knew I got what I had wanted when I was in the car listening to my new speakers and a big smile came over my face! When Nick gave me the total for parts, labor and taxes my reaction was, That's It?? I was thinking I would be paying much more. All in all, it was an incredible experience. I am so happy that I went to Mobile Sound. You can trust Nick to give you great advice and not push you to get something that you don't need.
