You can spend an entire life working for someone else’s vision. Being an artists means you pursue your vision even if it’s for an hour. This disrupts the constant chokehold society places on us to perform. When we draw. When we paint. When we create. It’s our time, not theirs. #artist #artwork #painting

You all showed up and showed out to celebrate Drag In the Streets this past Saturday! Families and friends gathered in Louis Khan Park to dance to sounds by DJ Lindo, enjoy art by Rumi George, and be entertained by talented local performers MoonBaby, SavvyBaby and Xiomara Villa! There was no shortage of good vibes as the community came together to celebrate and honor the role of drag queens in the LGBTQ community. It was definitely a party! Many thanks to Jameson Paige and everyone who made this event possible! Remember to check out muralarts.org to stay updated on #Muralarts and the fantastic events curated in Philly! 📍1101 Pine Street "AND INTO THE STREETS"

This past weekend, we gathered at Louis Kahn Park for AND INTO THE STREETS: A Community Revisited, an open community discussion to reflect on the past and present of Philadelphia’s LGBTQ community. It was a sweet walk down memory lane as we invited individuals and community leaders from eras pictured in the public art project by @rami_george to share an afternoon of conversation and reflection while also celebrating past and present impactful moments in time. Thank you so much to everyone who came out to share this memorable afternoon with us! 📍AND INTO THE STREETS | A public art project depicting Philadelphia’s LGBTQ community between 1982- 2000 | 1119 Pine Street.

Kahn Park is a wonderful place at 11th and pine. I had the pleasure of doing some work there over late summer early fall. And I met some great people I hope I hopefully left it in better shape than it was when I got there. Michael G ... Fix it Philly

I put up the book exchange school house, power washed tables, benches and bike rakes. Stained and sealed the community boards. Repair the electrical system and fixed broken garden railings, and wobbling tables. It was a pleasure, thank you to the two of the nicest ladies and a...

Basically a small corner neighbourhood nook with a "bike friendly" scenario going on. Overwhelmingly constructed in a concrete theme and complimented with seats and benches thoughtfully situated throughout. Trees go someway to improving its ambiance and supplimenting the sparse greenery within the location. Because of its design this is probably a park with low maintenance outlays but appreciated by local folks as a stroll in, chill out and socialising...

This little park is full of tall trees that make it a shady oasis in the summer. The perimeter is lined with park benches and there are a few picnic tables. There is an Indego Bike station here as well as a Little Free Library box to borrow or donate books. The park offers free monthly summer concerts and Tai Chi on Sundays at noon. The park is supported by an active Friends of...
