You won't get an Italian dark coffee here, but if you like a more bodied (slightly more acidic) medium roast, this is your spot. They don't have a ton of coffee syrup flavors, but the coffee itself is good. They have a roaster in South Philly.
They also sell bagged coffee, but have a reduced selection compared to the roaster location. They will grind the beans there and ask you what grind you need (nice if you have an espresso machine). They also offer a $1 cold brew or free drip coffee if you get a bag of coffee. I'd recommend buying the bag early if you are going Christmas shopping, as they sell out.
For food, typically they always have biscotti. Outside of that, they have good pastries they bring in from a local bakery (I think, they seem to always have a box that looks to be delivered daily). However, by mid day, they typically don't have any pastries left. They also don't do any savory/more substantial foods (due to space limitations likely).
The seating indoors is crammed and the chairs uncomfortable, so it's not great for indoors. However, it has a great outdoor setup. They look like they recently added more outdoor...
Read moreThe interior of the cafe may be small, but the quality of the drinks were pretty good. I like the idea of their seasonal drinks (I'm a sucker for a sparkling espresso) but I only drink unsweetened black coffee and their seasonal drinks were sweetened. Whoever is with me tends to get a fancier drink than me though and they enjoy it!
I got cold brew twice and the first time it was amazing, second time it was a little under-brewed/lacked body. I was just going to muscle through it and forget about it, but a barista actually asked me how my drink was so I was polite and honest. They offered to remedy my order immediately which was a really nice surprise! That's also why I keep coming back, haha.
Staff is super sweet and quickly slings coffee over the counter to satiate a frequent buzz of customers for most of the day. With the small amount of seating, there's a lot of people grabbing a quick cup and leaving. Lots of people stopping in before and during...
Read moreGreenstreet has been my OG philly neighborhood coffee stop for a few years. Best coffee and latte in the area. I can’t articulate the subtle flavor nuances in their latte, but it’s 10/10.
Small, cozy corner place with big windows (green paint trim!) that they open weather permitting. Outdoor seating provides decent people watching. I often stop in while walking my dog, so I greatly appreciate that they’re dog friendly (or dog tolerant). It feels like the epitome of.. a cozy, ‘locals’, neighborhood coffee shop
Overall great ambiance, vibe, green aesthetic, and coffee menu of course. Usually busy, but the baristas - familiar faces and super friendly - move quickly, and finding a seat isn’t too hard
