Dirty Franks — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I love this bar! Great bar, but unfortunately I had a sucky experience most recently. While waiting at the bar in Dirty Franks, the bartender Sarah, working alone and understandably overwhelmed, skipped over my friend and I repeatedly and then served a pair directly next to us that just walked into the bar. I say, excuse me, when you can, we’re ready to order. I think those people just walked in. She responds “did you take the deli number at the door? No? Ok.” And walks away. She then says “you made me forget their order!” And goes to the aforementioned couple and says loudly “can you tell me your order again? They were talking to me so i completely forgot it” pushing blame onto us, and further claiming her statements as a joke when called out for accountability. Now I am witty and quick on my feet and made eloquent “jokes” of my own. How ever she may not have expected it and decided refuse to serve my friend and I as she continued speaking about the instance to every patron she could. Upon leaving, I spoke with Frank at the door, as I’m a regular, and said as much as I love this bar I’m going to have to review this experience with Sarah. He then assured me of the days she doesn’t work to avoid this horrible experience repeating. I get it, it’s a dive bar, but wrong is also wrong. DO come to dirty franks, I just don’t recommend Mondays...

The atmosphere was good but the bartender was not very pleasant. She told me that it was a cash only place and then broke my 100 into huge bills so I tipped her the smaller bills since we were planning on getting more drinks. She then proceeded to berate my friends saying she was not going to serve them because she works off tips. We had the cash set aside at the end since we knew we were going to buy more drinks. I tried to explain that to her but she walked away and proceeded to not serve us anymore. I sat there looking at her waiting for another beer as she gave me dirty looks and ate her sandwich and served everyone else around me. Just be warned this place is a predatory tipping establishment. Good service gets good tips. Cash only spot but she thinks she can treat people with disrespect. What if my friends were going to tip her. It’s a cash only place so they were buying their drinks from her. We aren’t from this area and were just stopping in. Never did we think we would get kicked out of place for not tipping because we wanted to make sure we tipped what the service was worth at the end. Just beware. She is an older lady who has tattoos all over her arms and dreadlocks. She wouldn’t tell...

I used to like this place. Decent drinks, casual environment. But I'm honestly done with it after one of the bartenders (An older woman) made my girlfriend cry. My girlfriend is hard of hearing. She was trying to order us drinks. There were 3 encounters.

The first time, the bartender said she couldn't hear her, and immidiately walked away.

The second time she tried to speak louder, and the bartender still couldn't hear her, made a nasty remark, walked away again.

Third time my girlfriend was trying to write it down to show to the bartender, and she said she was done with her, asked if she was dumb and walked away.

I know it's Philadelphia, we're supposed to be blue collar, tough cut people, but isn't this supposed to be the city of brotherly love? We're all in it together, and my girlfriend made every attempt possible to communicate. We weren't rude, we had just got there, it was early, like 930. We left...
