There is a small parking lot outside with about 10 or so spots, including accessible spots to park. You can also park at Cityscape Garage and it takes about 10 minutes to walk here; there's a paved sidewalk to connects you to this museum.
Inside, the museum does seem small at first glance, but there's so much to see. When you first get in, the gift shop is on your left- filled with fun mementos and there's even police uniform you can try on to take a photo in. On the right, there's an exhibit of a historic jail that you can peer in and they go some mannequins in there to make it realistic. In front of that are some glass displays packed with artifacts and information. If you keep going ahead, there's an old wagon-like vehicle that must have been what police drove back then. On your left, there's a small room with a memorial to the fallen police officers, and you can read their stories.
As you proceed into the "second" room- you'll see some more modern police equipment including an actual helicopter, motorcycle, etc. You'll also see a recessed area with some info on the Miranda Rights. At the far back, there's a mix of somewhat historical and more modern police equipment- so cool to see the evolution. Then, as you loop on back out, you'll see more glass displays including one on forensics and there's more equipment featured. Who would have thought there's so much technology involved. There was so much to take in, in spite of the museum's small size. Further, the museum docents were all friendly...

The Phoenix Police Museum is truly one of a kind! This place exceeded all my expectations. It offers a fascinating and respectful look into the history, service, and evolution of law enforcement in Phoenix.
The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, covering everything from early law enforcement equipment and uniforms to real-life stories and interactive displays. One of the highlights was sitting in a restored police car and seeing a recreated 1880s jail cell — it really brings history to life.
The museum is very family-friendly, and the volunteers (many of whom are retired officers) were incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and happy to answer questions. Their personal stories added a deeper layer to the experience.
Best of all, admission is free (donations welcome), making it an easy and rewarding stop if you’re visiting downtown. Whether you have an interest in law enforcement, history, or just want to do something unique, this museum is absolutely worth a visit.
Highly recommended — a true gem that honors those who serve and protect. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreI had a really great experience coming here for the first time! I'm very grateful that I could witness different pieces of history. My grandpa is a retired lieutenant who served the Phoenix police force, so it was nice to have him as well as my cousin there. Our tour guide, Tammy, was super nice and friendly, and she gave us a lot of good information and let us take a ton of pictures of different artifacts. Mike was also very accommodating towards my grandpa and kept him company, and I appreciated his help getting me in and out of the parking lot. My favorite part of my visit was seeing the old police cars, motorcycles and helicopter, as well as the official documents from the Miranda rights trial. The police memorial was really beautiful and the stained glass paintings...
