Came with a large party. Server was doing her best to take drink orders as well arrived. Took some food orders. Then cleared the menus before everyone had ordered. Stopped her and took the menus back, then ordered 2 apps and a burger and a second drink.
The apps came out pretty quickly. They were good. The bread and truffle butter and the popcorn. My burger and second cocktail never arrived. Asked the server and she said she'd check on the drink and that the food just comes out of the kitchen as it's ready. She brought my second drink a few minutes later. After asking our second server to check on my burger, it had been about an hour since I ordered it and everyone else was done eating. I cancelled it. Never got to eat
The check came out. Auto gratuity, which is perfectly fine for our large party. Except they wouldn't split the bill. So while figuring out how we're all going to pay and keep track of what we owe, we figured out that the tax on the receipt was calculated after the auto grat. They were adding tax based on the gratuity. Illegal. So we pointed it out, a manager came by and said, "no one in 6 years has ever said anything about that and that's just how our system works." Doesn't make it any less illegal. Just means you didn't put gratuity as a tax free item in the POS. Between the fact that I spent 2 hours there and never got to have dinner. I won't be back. And I'll be dropping the DoR a little tip to look into your returns for the past 6 years.
REPLY TO THE RESTAUTANT'S RESPONSE:. My burger did not come out 30 minutes after I ordered. My burger did not come out at all. I never received my food. At all. Like at all at all. I asked for it twice. It never came out. Do not publicly lie and tell me I'm complaining over nothing. My dinner, NEVER ARRIVED. Out party started at 645. It was 8 pm when I told the server I never received my food and to just go ahead and cancel it. Your reply, is about as unprofessional...
Read moreAfter a wonderful dinner at Wren & Wolf, we decided to end the night with our very first visit to Bitter & Twisted — and it was definitely a fun way to wrap up the evening. The atmosphere is vibrant, creative, and full of personality. The unique décor, playful menu design, and lively energy immediately make it a memorable spot for a nightcap.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the gentleman at the front door, who set such a positive tone for the night. He was incredibly kind, made sure to ID everyone, and carried himself with a professional, friendly energy. I respect the fact that he took safety seriously while still making guests feel welcome — it’s a great first impression for the venue.
Our waitress was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the drink menu. As someone who doesn’t drink often, I appreciated how she walked me through different options, explained the flavors, and gave great recommendations. Her suggestions were spot-on, and I ended up loving my choice.
One of the highlights was their complimentary Photo Booth, which was such a fun and unexpected touch. It was free, easy to use, and you can have the photos sent straight to your email — a great way to remember the night.
The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is due to the pricing and group policy. The drinks are on the pricier side (though very good), and for larger parties (anything over six), they require one bill — which can only be split into four ways. They also add a 22% gratuity automatically. As someone who’s worked in the service industry, I understand the reasoning, especially for big groups, but it’s worth noting for anyone planning to go with a large party.
Overall, Bitter & Twisted is a really cool spot with great service, a welcoming and safe environment, and a unique vibe. It’s worth visiting for the atmosphere, creative cocktails, and fun extras that make the...
Read moreI definitely went into this place with high hopes and left disappointed. The cocktail menu looks amazing with its design and art while being highly curated. Overall I give the aesthetic and service a 10/10. Very on top of it and I can see the people who work here take pride in this establishment.
All the plates were also plastic, trust me I am not a snob at all but if you have a doorman with a rope and have to wait in a line to get in you should probably spring for some nicer wares.
However I think the gimmick try's to polish up its weak points such as the Bear Witness cocktail. Who doesn't think a little honey bear glass is cute as hell? But you should really spring for a glass bear, the plastic is insanely tacky for such a place.
The cocktail itself was lacking, it was very one sided and missing balance, maybe the pink peppercorn honey was missing cause I detected no sweetness to balance out the cocktail. The server also said it had Laphroaig in it but it wasn't listed on the menu, I enjoy smoky but leaving out a flavor as prominent as Laphroaig is strange.
The Fae Scotland was a good cocktail but once again just really didn't hit the mark for me.
The food was not good. Maybe I am spoiled because I come from such an amazing food city but the Korean nachos were once again on theme by being highly one sided, Gochujang brisket with spicy cheese sauce and so called "crema" made the dish one sidlingly spicy. The crema which wasn't crema was literally thick sour cream pooled in the middle and would be better off drizzled. Maybe you can't drizzle it unless you actually cut the cream with lime. We also had the Ceaser salad but the croutons were insanely hard and had us thinking we might chip a tooth.
Overall the place is cool but it missed the...
