U.S. Steel Tower — Attraction in Pittsburgh

I had to park here as the Double Tree Hotel's garage was full at 2:30 pm. It is scary and very close quarters entering and exiting the US Steel parking garage but the spaces are generous. 6 feet is the maximum height. So larger vehicles will not fit. I arrived on a Friday afternoon and was leaving Monday morning. I asked the security guard at USS if it is ok to leave the car there all weekend as it was cheaper than the hotel's garage. He indicated it was. Saturday morning I thought about moving the car to the hotel's parking garage. I could not as this parking garage closes at 5:00 pm Fridays and is closed all weekend!! I am glad I didn't have to leave Pittsburgh on Sunday or I would have been stuck! Shame on me for not checking their hours but be aware if you park here and need to leave on a weekend this garage is not a good option. Otherwise I highly recommend it. Back in the 1970's, I worked at the "STOUFFER'S TOP OF THE TRIANGLE" Restaurant, Which was located on the 62nd Floor of the U.S STEEL BUILDING. The View from the Top was absolutely beautiful. The entire view of downtown Pittsburgh was Totally Amazing. You were able to see a gorgeous view of the North Side, Mount Washington, All 3 Rivers & of course Downtown Pittsburgh. When 3 Rivers Stadium was in existence You got a Birdseye view of the Stadium & at night when there were Pirate Games being played the huge Stadium lights were Great to see. Grandview Avenue on Mount Washington was also a very Beautiful sight to behold. It's a shame that You can't go up & see the entire view of a Beautiful City that People still...

Paid parking lot, access to the T, and many elevators. If you like elevator banks this is a building to checkout. You can see the elevator banks from the lobby but you need to be a guest or work in the building to access the elevator banks. Now don't get me wrong you can access elevators without having access to the building but not the elevator banks. For this special access you can go between the lobby the garage and the t levels to get elevator access. However you will be unable to access the elevator banks. All in all I think this...
