Went to this place 2 1/2 hours before a concert at the Consol Center, thinking that would be plenty of time to eat a simple meal and get to the concert...WRONG! Our party of 4 was seated after 30 minutes, which is fine; we didn't have reservations and there were a lot of people. When the waiter came to get our drink orders, we placed our food orders to save some time. Our bread didn't come out for 30 min, the appetizer (a simple freakin' cheese plate!) came out 30 min after that. With only 30 min remaining before the concert started, we still had not received our entrees. I had to literally get up from my seat, go to the little cove that our waiter was hiding in, and tell him that if our food didn't arrive in the next 2 minutes, we were headed out the door. Our now cold, and mostly gross food came out 2 minutes later.

Absolutely horrible experience. How can a "restaurant" so close to a huge venue like the Consol Center be so utterly unprepared for what everyone else in the area knew was going to be a busy evening? I would suggest that they look at an events calendar and see if there are gigantic concerts coming to town, and maybe, uh, whaddayathink, bring in staff accordingly?!?!?! Oh, and the staff that's brought in, you might want to make sure they've got more than a couple...

This restaurant is nicely decorated and has plenty of space between the tables. All of this provides a nice, professional atmosphere. It may be a little confusing as they have small TVs at some of the tables, seemingly to support the game crowds.

As someone who works downtown Pittsburgh, this has been one of my favorites in downtown Pittsburgh. They have a spicy tomato bisque that I sometimes crave! However, I'm dropping my rating for a few reasons. The prices are too high for what you get ($9 for a bowl of soup that doesnt even come with bread, crackers, etc.) and the food selection is very limited. We talked with the waiter. They aren't willing to listen customer demand for changes. One example is they removed their amazing grilled cheese sandwich (excellent with the bisque). We were told that there have been several requests/complaints about the change to the menu and the response has been no. If something is popular, why not listen to your patrons and...

The food was so awesome! I had the mac n cheese with chicken, so, so tasty. It is cooked in a little iron skillet and baked with crunchy bread crumbs on top. My friend had the meatballs which were equally delicious. Beforehand we had ordered the tater tots served with three sauces. Absolutely the tastiest ones I've ever had. The only regret is they wouldn't let us sit outside where it would have been much quieter. Inside the restaurant it is very echo like, we were near the bar and also there was a group of people in there that had a person in their party that I think had a mentally challenged person who totally can't help it but she kept yelling out and it echoed so badly in there that we had to shoot to hear each other talk. Other than that it was a...

Didn’t have the best experience. Had to ask 3 times for the table to be cleaned before and after we sat. Sausages and potatoes were cold, coming from the pan in the breakfast bar. Told the manager and asked for it to be removed from my check, his response was “okaaay”. No apology. The waitress service seemed forced and insincere, she tried to encourage us to not order from the menu bc it was the weekend but my boyfriend still ordered. We aren’t usually pricks or anything like that. I will say that they let us eat for free, although they didn’t say why, I assume it was because of the complaint of cold food. Overall I can do without.

After staying a night in the DoubleTree in Downtown Pittsburgh, I came here for breakfast, as it’s in the DoubleTree. Service was great! They have a nice breakfast menu, offering the typical (boring!) breakfast items, as well as interesting items, like their omelet, but their breakfast sandwich was outstanding! Looked beautiful and tasted great. Potatoes were nicely done too. I enjoyed my visit for breakfast…. But according to previous review, your mileage may vary!

Next stop on my CityPaper Burger Month journey. Bigelow Grille, Inside the Doubletree Hotel, downtown. The offering, Sheer Burger: lamb burger with tomato chutney, arugula, and whipped feta cheese. All I can say is, Amazing! Enjoy!
