My 11 years old boy has attended Feixiang for 4 years and my younger boy has been Feixiang since summer. Both of their Chinese have improved a lot after attending Feixiang. My little one didn’t speak much Chinese but can talk with grandma in Chinese fluently this time when my mom visited us. He learned tons of Chinese kid rhymes in Feixiang, which greatly helped his verbal skills in various topics. My older boy gained a lot progress in math curriculum here and I am really impressed by his resourceful solutions in resolving math problems.
Math, English and Chinese are all free with great quality. It offers a variety of extracurricular classes as well at reasonable prices (we also hope more types of classes are introduced). Also my kids are able to finish their homework at Feixiang under teachers’ support and guidance.
The principal here is very attentive to the quality of curriculum and kid’s exposure to extracurricular activities and outdoor park times (in summer and public school off days). The school has also been adapting to support kids’ social and emotional growth and I observed a lot growth in this regard.
This is a very safe campus and teachers are very attentive to and responsible for kids safety when picking them up from schools, and calling each one at parent pick up timing.
In summary, Feixiang has great strengths in well structured Mandarin and math education, safety, responsibility, keeping kids occupied in meaningful learning. The principal is very supportive, responsive and easy to communicate with. Ps. The lunch is very yummy and nutritious - my boys prefer to have lunch here vs. their...
Read moreIf I can give a negative score I would do that. I dropped my kid out already. If you can, don't wait till too late. The school is very crowded. Student teacher ratio is about 1 vs. 30+ Some teachers have very bad manner towards the kids. Things I wouldn't say to my kid. My kid often came home saying scared of making mistakes and didn't want to be laughed at. The head of the school is a nice lady but she shouldn't call herself an educator. Stuffing kids with not-age appropriate exercises daily. My kid was reluctant to go because anticipated hours of sitting and doing tons of paper copied exercises everyday. They are at the age that the brain is like a sponge. The school creates a fake impression that kids learning there are all genius because they can do 3 digit adding/subtracting or multiplication at K level??? And on top of that, accidents frequently happens on daily basis. who wants their kids get hurt? and a few cases, no one even saw them happens to my kid. Isn't the number 1 rule for a school is to keep kids safe? It's ridiculous. They do offer convenient drop off and pickup for busy parents...but that's about it. How about open a new business call Bilingual Transit...
Read moreI have visited different after schools before sending my kids to Fei Xiang. My impression of Fei Xiang is clean and organized. The facility includes an indoor play area with a decent size basketball hoop. During the summer kids usually have physical activities in the morning and academic classes in the afternoon. I feel teaches really care about the kids' wellbeing. Teaches make sure each child applies sun screen before going outside, have water and snacks as necessary. I am no tiger mom but I do think kids need to have some kind of discipline so that they can develop good habits. I think Fei Xiang is able to provide that good balance. No after school will fit every kid. Not all kids will suite well in after schools. Both my kids went to Fei Xiang one was able to grasp more than the other academically. The bottom line is if you need to select an after school for your kid Fei Xiang is a...
