Shear Elegance Hair Salon — Attraction in Port Angeles

The first time I went here I got a older nice lady, I forgot her name but she was very welcoming and definitely had that cool salon vibe to her. Gave me a wash, the haircut I wanted and I was really confident with my haircut. Both me and my brother had gotten our haircuts there and were very pleased with the first time results (I came in with a full head of hair and it only costed me 35$ individually and my brother 25$ individually which I found reasonable bc we both got Wash's to☺️)..and then we went back for trims. Couple months after our first haircuts we went back for trims just to kinda tone us up, both me n my brother got the same lady (who did our trims) which we had no problem with, it only took Abt 25-20 minutes for both of us since we only got 1 inch trims no wash and she did us 1 by 1 (him first, then me). We didn't buy any products, no wash, no dye no nothin just a quick 1 inch trim.. (notice: we're both 15 and 16. ) when we went to pay, there was a younger girl there with ripped jeans, white sweatshirt and sorta dirty blondish hair, she looked to be about 18-19 and was on her phone as we approached the counter...she asked us if we wanted to combine the price and we said sure, both me n my brother came in with 30$ just in case anything happened..but we got charged 60$ for the combined price...for a 1 inch trim..we didn't buy any products, didn't get a wash, and got charged 60$ 😂 at the time I was really nervous about saying anything but now I look back..that was kinda insane. I feel taken advantage of because she probably knew she could probably overcharge us since we went by ourselves. (Good trim, just felt absolutely ripped off).

Not worth the effort to walk through their door. I shouldn't even waste my time writing this review.... Anyway, I don't remember the stylists name (if you can call her that), but she asked if I minded her dry cutting my hair. I don't mind that, because my hair looks great cut that way when the person really knows what they are doing. My total hair cut took five minutes. REALLY????? This person basically combed out my hair, snipped a few ends, (when I asked for two or more inches to be cut), proceed to comb my hair again and then said I was done. I was flabbergasted! Every place I've ever gone I received a shampoo, cut, hair dried and styled. This person charged me more than I've ever paid and I got nothing for it. I realize I was in the wrong for not saying something right then and there. But I couldn't believe the audacity of this person, and basically walked away. I don't remember if I tipped or not. It's taken me a while to not think about my experience until I saw this place on google tonight. I will never go back and wished I'd listened to myself as I did have mixed feeling about this place. I decided to make an appointment simply because of a few (very few) nice reviews. Wish I had gone with my instincts and stayed away. Shame on the owner of this place for allowing such shoddy work from so called...

I had a deeply disappointing experience at this salon. Initially, they called to reschedule my appointment, which I accepted, trying to be flexible. I worked with them to adjust to an earlier time, only for the hairstylist to arrive late. I waited patiently, but during that time, I overheard the staff making insensitive remarks about people with gray hair. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable, especially since I was there for an all-over color to cover my own grays.

When the stylist finally arrived, she failed to fully cover my gray hair and suggested I return for another appointment. I agreed and rescheduled. However, just a few days later, she called on a Sunday asking to move my appointment from Tuesday to Monday, which I accommodated again. On the day of the new appointment, she called an hour beforehand to push the time by 30 minutes. I arrived on time, yet 30 minutes later, I was still waiting.
