Blue Sky, Oregon Center for the Photographic Arts — Attraction in Portland

Drove down from Seattle 4-18-2015 to visit photography galleries in the Portland area. After visiting several It appears that Blue Sky is the main gallery. An interesting contemporary space which is capable of staging several exhibitions at once due to the layout as well as a small library with photo books galore.. The shows I saw where both engaging and well positioned in the space, sometimes a rarity in galleries. I won't commit of the shows themselves which I enjoyed, I walked away with thoughts I hadn't had when I entered and that's all art can do on a base level. Blue Sky is a photography gallery with thoughtful exhibits of large works. One of the latest exhibits featured photos of women draped head to toe in ethnic fabrics...hiding their indentity and intriguing you at thesame time. On my latest visit I particularly enjoyed the drawers of work by different local artists. You open any drawer in this room and its full of work by a particular artist.
