So grateful I found this gem! Came to Portland to celebrate my partner’s 40 birthday. Wanted to make something special for him and this amazing business delivered! Beautiful setting, nice atmosphere with live piano, amazing service, above and beyond honestly. Everyone was amazing and very attentive. We had a dinner cruise and b/c it was Tuesday night, there was not that many people, making the atmosphere even more intimate and romantic. We had cheese plate as an appetizer, beef and chicken as main… so much food! We were absolutely stuffed. Couldn’t even finish the dessert. Not sure how others comment that portions are too small b/c there was more than enough food! Honestly don’t know. Do people expect Claim jumper or something? Have no clue! Food was good. The type you’d get at a fancy wedding reception delicious but not gourmet. Price $98 per person, and while seems too much, when factoring the vessel, the crew, the upkeep, insurance, docking rights, it is honestly not outrageous. We had a wonderful and very special dinner. The night was bright and we were able to enjoy about an hour of uninterrupted boat ride on the 3rd deck. Overall great experience!! I am glad we found it! A lot more memorable and festive than just going to a dinner and probably spending just as much with prices in PDX. Thank you, Portland Spirit crew for...
Read moreThe Portland Spirit lunch cruise is something that you should do at least once, even if you live in the Portland area. Cruising the Willamette river gives you a different perspective of the landscape of Portland that you won't get from anywhere else. The entire experience was great with the only exception being how long it took for our food to arrive. Even though we were enjoying the cruise and the recorded narrative it seemed like our lunch took forever to arrive. Besides that it was smooth sailing. We parked at the World Trade Center parking garage and walked across the street to the Spirit Launch area and after a short wait were greeted onboard and escorted to our window table. We had our choice of a few different items and chose the steelhead and the beef shoulder. For dessert, my wife and I each had the chocolate cake which was rich but delicious. The tour narrative can be heard from the outdoor decks or by way of a free app. Lots of interesting facts about life on and around the river. The cruise lasted for approx. 2 hours and we were very happy that we decided to take advantage of such a nice way to have lunch and enjoy the Willamette river from aboard a very nice boat.
thank you Portland...
Read moreThe cruise part and atmosphere were nice, but the food was mediocre. There was only one vegan option and it was not listed on the menu, which seems out of sync with the “spirit” of Portland, given the city’s amazing vegan food scene. We requested a vegan, gluten-free option for some in our party and were told it would be tofu fajitas. When the dish arrived, there were no tortillas and it was made with a dense, flavorless wheat gluten as fake meat. Didn’t taste very good. Someone in our party gets very sick when eating gluten so we inquired about the protein. The server initially insisted it was tofu and gluten-free, and it was only when we insisted that they double checked and found it was gluten that had been served. Others in our party had some of the other food options and weren’t very impressed either… they also make you pay “gratuity” based on the cost of the ENTIRE bill, rather than just the cost of the food. So we paid over $10 tip on each dish, despite the poor quality of food. I would consider the cruise again only if they improved the food and revised their...
